Over 35's

Russell Smith

The Paintball Association
Steve, has just been in touch with a request for any paintballers (any age) who are in the area on the saturday to go to the site and help him set it up.
You must realise that it is an over 35s only event and steve himself is about to reach the big 50.
It would be wrong if we let him do this by himself, he does not get paid for this one, it's just his big heart, so if you can please help him.

To all the over 35s & marshals who came to j20, a big thank You:) It was a cracking day & some great moments and was great to see a lot of old friends

Thank You to all the event sponsors, and a special big thank you must go to Bully himself.

He gave up his whole weekend to drive from manchester to J20, To set up a supair field by himself, in the freezing cold field covered in snow, nearly got frostbite in his feet, then got on site next morning by 7.15 which meant missing his breakfast, worked all day, spent hours before the event sorting out players, rotas, prizes, trophys, raffle tickets, etc etc etc.

What can i say the guys a legend with a heart as big as rochdale.

To all the players who said they would defo be at the event and didnt turn up, you suck ! To all the marshals who said they would defo be at the event and didnt turn up, u suck too. Everybodys got mobiles, everybody can get in touch, if you can,t afford the call reverse the charges...A lot of hard work went in to the event, you should respect that. All profits from the event goes to charity and not in somebodys pocket.

To the 2 teams I sponsor, I am very dissapointed !!! To the ones that turned up, thank you very much. I won't forget.

A big thankyou must go to you as well Nick :) You gave your whole site over to the event and didn't make a penny out of it, yet I'm sure you could have run a rental day which would have made you money.

Really nice site, and I had a fab time. I think it's the first time I've played a whole day without sitting any games out for almost 2 years now, and I'm going to suffer for it in the morning! We were really well looked after by the staff (food was niiice) and the atmosphere was superb.

For this who didn't show, you're a bunch of wimps. The weather stayed dry all day, and it was warmer than it's been all week. If someone like Fossil, who hasn't even played for years (shot an electro marker for the first time this morning!) and is significantly older than me, can turn up and play at this charity event then what's your excuse

I second all Nick's thanks - without the people like the refs who stood in the cold all day getting shot at for nothing, the other players there, and the site staff, the day wouldn't have been as fun. And of course the biggest cheer MUST go to Bully, whio as Nick said gave up his whole weekend for this wonderful tournament.

Got to add my thanks to everyone involved in this, Steve, Nick, the Marshalls, donators and of course the oposition(s)..

Believe it or not this was the first "tournie" I have ever played, although some of my team-mates may have noticed.. (Sorry Ian)

Have to say, well fed, watered, organised and just a hell of an "easy" day out.... Nice baptism for an over 35 ;)

Whatever the reasons some of you missed out on this day, guys it was a blast, should have been there... And for charity as well although in my book everyone deserves more than thanks..

Raffle included a couple of markers, a bag "o" bits and some paint.. all donated as prizes by????? Another couple of markers auctioned off as well... You missed out loads...

A final word before getting down off my soapbox..

THANKS GUYS...... GREAT DAY.... Health permitting be there next year...
