im not quite sure where your going with this bud ..is it a wet dream or are your parents going to buy you a DIY tournament team? I dont mean this offensivly but your talking about something that is slightly out of your age bracket if you know what i mean . school project ? what ? If your seriously looking for this kind of kit and are thinking of setting up a team or venue then myself,Sid,Markie C and others can and will help you in various ways but it seems that pricing compressors is a bit out of your league just now

sorry if that sounds harsh feel free to tell me to piss off

BTW - dont waste your time with 3000psi tanks - no really ..

piss off....nah just kidding. I know that the prices I have may seem outrageous and just a wee bit out of my league , but at the moment I have to stress that this is just an idea that I'm mulling over in my head and am just wanting to get my facts straight e.g. if I hadn't made this thread I would have gone out thinking that compressors costs only £1000 and would have got a very nasty shock, yet finding out the real cost I have been able to come to an agreement to use another compressor for free and also to maybe borrow some dive tanks at the same time:cool:. I'm sorry if I seem vague but I don't want to put any false expectations on myself when their are still so many variabbles but hopefully I will be able to bring everyone out of the dark around the 20th (fingers crossed). And also again I can't afford the 5000psi tanks.

And markie thanks for the help but again not looking to buy just now but will hopefully be contacting in about a couple of months time (fingers crossed yet again)

Thanks again for all your help
Jamie

1.1L 4500 psi tanks cost around £140.
If your buying a ****load of gear, speak to BigDicks paintball or Just paintball for a decent deal on multiple full setups.
They do a kit with ion, 4500 air, hopper, goggs, pack and pots and squegee for £350..so..there is scope there.

If your thinking of having a walkon site, indoor...then also add several £000 for insurance, per year.

Profliers have teh easiest to change lenses, while still being decent goggs.

lol it might be a kinda crummy walkon site with only 5 ions but your right I do need to take into consideration insurance. I'm hoping that another policy might cover it but if not does anyone know where you can get paintballing insurance from?
Plus I will look into the deals at just and bigs so thanks
Thanks again

If your not getting paying members of teh public in, then dont worry...but would be worth checking on liability insurance.
If someone comes to your house for dinner, and sits in a chair that then collapses, they could sue you for any injuries, so Im guesing paintball would be the same.

i forgot to ask this mate, but have you ever played on a supair field mate? i can tell by the sound of it that you have played walk-ons??

but basically where im coming from is why go out and build you own field where there could be loads and loads of downsides. first off all if your spending a lot on this and know you will follow it the long way then why dont you get a good reliable gun that will mean no upgrading and messing with the guns? (i have had loads ion problums) 2nd thing what happens if you do all this spend the 5 grand+ on all this and find its not your piece off cake? i mean most people like supair but there are the odd few that dont, and then when it comes to selling up you will loose lots of money on it all.

My best advice is why dont you get your self down to some training places, usually one somewere near you depending on where you are, and see if you like it.

Like dskize said im sorry if this sounds like im trying to stop you doing it but im trying to think of you and your money:rolleyes:

P.S. if you have played on a Sup-air field and you like it then this post will be pointless read;)

lol it was abit of a pointless read but don't worry I was bored anyway. I have played supair at the keltics walkon twice and really enjoyed am hopefully going down to the ballers academy at the quarter (if there are still spaces left). Thanks for thinking of my economic situation:rolleyes: but I wont be buying all the kit myself but again you'll have to wait and see.
Again I am looking into liability insurance (after having to use my medical after seeing the "it will cost £000s !!!) and I have budgeted about £10-20 a week but that is a complete estimate so if anyone has a better idea and knows were to get it then plz tell me.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies

oh and you do realise that the people that come to my (our) walk-on comprise of nearly the whole of the scottish tournament paintball scene yeh ..all 30 of us

if your looking a sustaining a business here - forget it.. i make about £300 in walkon fees minus what i have to pay for air etc -i think I made £30 in profit for the last one..I dont do it for money

but good luck anyway

I do know that there are very few touney ballers in scotland and what I'm planning will hopefully increase the numbers by three fold however I am not planning to make any kind of profit so don't worry about it (as of course I would give you a piece of the action if I was :D )
Thanks again
