Other World Cup negatives

Why isn't anyone reporting the near assault with a tank (cops were called) and the fist fight on a team (unrelated)? Salm was stupid, but these other situations are more criminal and darker.

My info is from someone that was there, but I would like more discourse. There seem to be a lot of black eyes for the sport in Orlando this year.

All Bull,

Fuel player refused to stop shooting, Illusion player merely shoved the guy away with his tank/marker....then got sucker punched by said Fuel player. Said Illusion Player then proceeded to kick said Fuel player's ass. All out brawl insued....tally....3 suspened Fuel players- Zero - Illusion players penalties. Sad state of Paintball IMO, but If were to be attacked then I'd sure as hell defend myself and let the chips fall where they may. Wouldn't you?

Actually, people have asked about this, but until these posts, we could not find anybody who was there to substantiate the stories we had heard. And since we're trying to cut back on the rumour mill, we did not allow our imaginations to go wild.

It was the NE Illusion v. Fuel with the air system thing and it was Rage players fighting amongst each other.
Oh come on Rick, Rage fight each other every tournament I have ever been to over there, it's all that Latin blood they have racing round them what with Chino, Nilo, Danny and Pete.
Wouldn't be the same without it :)
The NE Illusion game sounds a bit sacry though :(

Problem with an event tha size of

tha Cup is that even when you talk to people who were there, it's still Chinese whispers cos everything is so spread out. I've talked to a lot of people who were at Florida about contentious issues and I'll give you some examples of what I mean. These are all from people I have spoken to who were there...

Salm Incident

One guy swears blind Salm had a white T-shirt on, three say black.

One very notable Paintball personage is adamant that Avalanche drove Salm out to the treeline and dropped him off.

Another insists that everyone on the team knew except Eric Roberts and Rocky. The same person claims Eric Roberts left immediately after and has now joined Aftershock.

A third told me that several top team captains had a running joke going about that field and were grabing friends and supporters and telling them to go snipe from tha treeline, and that it was a standard gag until Salm actually did it.

One guy told me he saw Lasoya talking to Salm after the fact in the WDP tent. Conversely, two reported that Lasoya said, right after the incident, 'If I ever see Jeremy again I swear I'll kill him.'

Rage thing

One person said a Rage player hit a ref with his air tank and the police turned up on site to take him away.

Three people told me they had seen and heard nada.

One said he'd heard of the incicdent, but heard it was between two rookie teams.

See what I mean?

And besides, surely the biggest incidents are the fact that there were a dozen portaloos between 3,000 people, that spectators couldn't watch the finals unless they got to the right field 3 hours in advance, and that X-Ball was poorly pulled off.

Way to go to get spectators involved in Pball...
