Any savings the token idea had in cutting down time in giving change back was grossly outweighed by not enough people working the stands.
All prices were conveniently whole numbered and therefore any change giving would have been at a minimum anyway.
The security thing is an area I can agree with.

I think the event as a whole was fantasitc but this food / drink fiasco ironically left a nasty taste in my mouth......especially when I actually had to eat something from the site.

i believe the token system is a much better way of organising an event.

The crap food, and lack of staff can not be blamed on the token system, as paying cash would have still bought you crap food, and it would have taken even longer with the lack of staff trying to count money...

FOr the record, there was a BIG sign on the token booth that said (in English) 'tokens not refundable'. No one forced people to buy more tokens, you could buy just one if you like.

As for overcharging for items... Personally the value of an item at an event should be the same as if you went to McDonalds, or a corner shop to buy it. Modifying the token system so each token was worth .50 euros, would allow for more flexable prices for food.

The food at Max Masters was much better, still expensive but you felt like you were getting better value for your money.

At Paris we just ate McDonalds...

Look for the food at Toullouse to be very awesome!

rip off

The whole food/refreshments side of things sucked in the damn!! It was either a rip off, not available or just junk food.. The only one thing that was cool was makin a "happy day" at the bar and beers were a euro all day!!

You wasn't allowed to take water on site, and they didnt even sell in on site?? work that out ......:p

I think alot of the points you bring up were discussed on the 'water water everywhere' thread.

Water WAS allowed onto the site as soon as Adam Stocks and Steve Baldwin heard that people were being stopped at the door. The top-notch security team was simply doing their job. Lets be thankful that they were so through that no ones marker or equipment was nicked! Sam Telfer was saying the security team stopped Steve Baldwin (the promotor) from entering the players tent because he didn't have an id card. . .

There was water for sale at the beet tent, I know, because I bought a bottle.

There was only one food stand, so perhaps that was the only downfall - they found it hard to keep up with the demand for the food.

Joey, the security was a joke; they were buffoons on a power trip.
They weren't doing a good job at all; they were intimidating people with an ignorant and heavy handed attitude.
I don't think we should be so thankful at all.
And as for Steve Baldwin allowing anything, it was he who told me the ban was enforced so that they (the promoters) could make more money......
Now it seems peculiar to me that somebody seems to be re writing history here because they announced this ban over the tannoy system at the Draxxus truck for everybody to hear.
I think that basically supports the idea that this ban on water and food was official and any subsequent back tracking was done after people got so pissed off about being treated like criminals.
And just for the record, I heard no subsequent lifting of the ban from anybody.
And water being sold in small bottles for extortionate prices isn't an option for players...... it's frikkin taking advantage of them !!!

The food sucked, the prices sucked, the queues sucked and the security, though effective, also sucked....apart from that, the tournament was fine but please don't try and whitewash this aspect, it's an insult to those players who were badly treated at the gate !

Granted, the promotors want to make money, whats the point if they didn't???

I was with Adam when it was brought to his attention, he did get right on it.

I brought in a bottle of water I got from the hotel. . .no one stopped me. . .

True, no pussyfooting around that.

Its nice when things are free or cheaper or bigger than we expected. But provisions were there - there was water (even if the size & price were bonkers)

What size water should be available?? How much would you players be willing to spend on it??

Mr Robinson, I guess I'm just trying to look at the cup as half full. :D

I enjoyed the weekend, I watched some great games, talked to some pretty cool people, but I also I watched the admin crew work their derriers off to make sure the hitches were few and far between, and on a whole I think they succeeded.

If at the end of the day the price for a bottle of water and a hot dog is what we have to complain about, thats pretty good. I truly think that this is taking a step in the right direction for paintball "the sport" :D I mean, thats what brings you guys altogether right? the game, and not the burgers ;)

I'm sure all promotors have taken note about the water issue. . . .

Roll on Campaign Cup!!!!
