As it says players the oranges tokens bought you nothing but rubbish and expensive rubbish at that.
Times are changing, lots of players want a healthy meal not just french fries and odd looking pizza.
The token system is a complete rip off, how many people came home with a few of these, you can't take these back to Thomas Cook.
Whoever thought of this system made themselves a small fortune.
Paintball is expensive enough without someone sticking the arm in.

Tokens must be a dutch thingie..remember they were in use last year too. But Nederlands is a very bureaucratic country so no wonder . The food was sooo bad and drinks overpriced except on happy hour, otherwise a great tourny like last year.

Hi Jay,

You're correct Jay, no one did force us to buy more than was needed, but like most of the people there i went up and handed over ten or twenty Euros before even seeing what food was on offer. If i had of known that the food was going to be that bad i would of just smuggled something to eat into the public park before i parted with my hard earned cash.

Jim,

Valid point.
In all honesty, a system like the tokens is actually developed for two reasons: 1) to cut down on the waiting lines, since there is no added time in placing and receiving your order for sorting out small change, and 2) to cut back the risk of theft. A lot of people that work the foodstands at any event are in no way affiliated with the event organisers, and so some will have little or no qualms when it comes to sticking their hands in the cash box. A system like the tokens will ensure that money only changes hands in a few locations, so if (some of) it goes missing, the organisers will know who to hunt down and prod with a pointy stick.
I have no opinion on the food, because I had a VIP pass, and so was able to get some good sandwhiches and pretty much whatever I wanted to drink (not trying to be smug here), so I'll take all of your words when you say you weren't happy. But the token system per se I have no problem with at all.

Token time

Apparently the reason for tokens is you need a picnic liscense to sell or bring food onto the area the site was on, so you buy tokens and then exchange them for food.Fine and being a site owner myself I can understand the need to make money but even the most expensive night clubs provide drinking water. I don't know what the answer is but without all the information people start to draw their own conclusions.;)

I agree with Welshy. . .the tokens worked well.

I don't have much comment on the food or prices of the food - when you are hungry, your hungry :D

And as Jay said, they cut down lines and theft. How can that really be a bad thing?? Marshals and Tournament staff also use the tokens, it ensures they get to eat, and not waste any monies from the value of paper food voucher commonly used at events.

Who knows you might just see the token pop up at other events, too . . .

Curious. . .how did all the people in the VIP area get passes??? Who was giving them out??
