From what I've now been told, Powerball have not supplied paint to either barnett or sables, and for that, they should be applauded.
Powerball have apparently chosen to sue barnett for the missing money and so we can only wish them luck in getting it back ...
On a wider note, I got told this morning where barnett eventually got his paint from and it's not from any of our established suppliers, which if you think about it, is an amazing thing.
Not one of them stooped sooo low as to entertain financial gain before doing the right thing ..... and for this, I think it's a good day for paintball.
For the first time in my knowledge, our industry took a stand albeit individually but in effect, together.
The paint barnett eventually got his grubby little hands on is called Pro Shar and it's made by a Russian company and distributed via Holland.
I've asked some friends of mine in the industry and it seems that hardly any of us have heard of this mob let alone know any of the people involved.
It just shows you how far barnett / sables had to go before they found someone willing to sell them paint.
And seeing as this Russian mob are new suppliers to sables / barnett, you can pretty much assume barnett and sables had to pay up front otherwise they're gonna live to regret it very quickly.
However, this is a huge risk for barnett because the quality of the paint is unknown and so we should hear how good/bad it was soon enough.
If there's one thing that paintballers value above all, is good paint; and if it doesn't come up to scratch then you can expect trouble.
I hope for the players' sake, it shoots ok.
Today is a really good day for UK paintball because people in our industry finally took a stand and would not sell paint to barnett or his partner in crime, sables.
The fact that barnett had to go to Russia to buy paint tells its own story ....
There's hope for us yet .....
PS I've just noticed something, barnett's initial and sables initial are 'B' and 'S' .... and when placed one after the other as in BS, anybody notice anything appropriate ??
I think they were made for each other ...
And so from now on, I just use the initialised version of their surnames and refer to them as an entangled pair using BS instead of writing out their surnames every time.
