No ...as was predicted Shoreline will run there version of 'a' UWL league , harvest whatever they can from those that support it and pack it out with there own sponsored teams to give it legitimacy, player wont give a **** because they don't and frankly why should they if they haven't been effected themselves .... the format will be diluted and the series with the 'biggest' teams supporting it will eventually take over ...money /prizes/venues talks ....the rest ....

Shoreline already have there **** together and Bon clearly outlined the reason for this ..new promoter better get his finger out..
Do you mean brand new game formats that have never been done before like

- Capture the flag briefcase
- Plant the bomb incendiary device
- Defend the fortress building
- Attack the fortress building
- Hold the *whatever space* for a set period of time

The usual barnett acolytes will still play whatever series they put on, it's no longer about facts, it's a clash of ideologies. At the last event I played, a bilgewater sponsored team were in attendance and categorically refused to believe that barnett owed anyone money. Despite being told to their faces by a Powerball employee who dealt with customer accounts and could verify the debt first hand. Madness.

I guess the important question is which series are the Sandbaggers going to play? They're the UK champions and the team that will lend legitimacy to the official event or the barnett knock-off.

Nah, why on earth would Pete create the profile of someone so high profile? Easy to verify by asking the man directly. There's too much in the way of conspiracy theory going on.

It would make no sense at all, much like supporting a snoreline event.

I wasn't doubting Pete; just exclaiming how Tim will see it... You know, press release on Pete's forum from a newly registered account...

I've no doubt it is genuine; just trying to cross all the t's etc

There is no doubt that TB will try to put some sort of spin on it, after all, it's been his MO since day one. Meanwhile his circle keeps getting smaller one player at a time. And one day he will discover his circle is just him. And maybe Sables, but he needs to be surgically removed, so that doesn't really count.

It's just making it too easy for barnett to dismiss. I get that Tom is a busy guy, but it would have taken him, what, a minute longer to post on Facebook rather than texting Pete? I don't doubt that it's real, however it smacks of people hedging bets and letting Pete take the flak if things don't pan out as expected. For all the talk in the background I've yet to see one industry figure sack up and make an official announcement about what's happened.

Hi Moneysings, no problem, I think I've probably become over-cynical concerning barnet's behaviour patterns and the sort of things he says.
I genuinely haven't seen anyone who exercises the same degree of self-delusion or indeed, deluded behaviour patterns.

I suppose I just have to accept he's pretty much out there on his own and largely oblivious to his own aberrant personality and how he's perceived.
It's borderline Asberger's from what I can see but I ain't no clinician, and barnett could just be a complete prihk devoid of social skills.
Whatever's going on, it's not really conducive to a responsible personality.
Maybe nature will just take its course ....

Gadge, I don't think for one second Tommy left me hanging on purpose, certainly not the way it maybe looked.
I've been friends with Tommy for over twenty years and he's not an ******* or manipulative in any way.
He really is one of the good guys in our industry ....
He's not only really well-liked, he's also respected.
I think barnett took advantage of the situation and because Tommy is such a trusting soul, he just didn't realise what barnett was capable of, or indeed realised how manipulative he could be.

Basically, circumstances overtook Tommy and maybe it's true to suggest it would have only taken a short time to say something earlier but let's face it, we're not in his head and so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I certainly ain't pis$ed with him but it's fair to say I did get a bit frustrated at times but that was really my fault not his.
Anyway, Tommy will let us all know when his plans for the UWL have crystallised and I've no doubt, next year will be pretty damned good for the uk woodsballers which let's face it, that's what we all want.

We will play the UWL along with all the others we play.

It's a great format and we've had a blast the last few years. It's been like tournaments used to be, none of the ego bollocks and everybody getting on and enjoying the game for what it is.

Toms found the perfect mix in this one.
