As a simple player I have been following this thread closely from afar due also to the fact that I haven’t been around the sport for that long either and politics and history do tend to be an issue in any company or organisation. As a new boy you just have to sit back listen and learn and make your own decision’s be them right or wrong. You just never now until that” light bulb” moment hits you and you think yep that was the right choice or nope should have done that different.
I managed to get as far as @Dusty’s post from Mr Barnett on Democracy and the UKPSF and I had my own “light bulb” moment.
This is a “SPORT” I love and on the most part am proud to be associated with.
Mr Barnett the UKPSF is not and should never be TRADE only.
The UKPSF is not a traders organisation to allow individuals to further their business aims it is there to protect and to promote the “SPORT” nothing else……
They are there to guide and influence and the mere thought of not having player’s representation within a committee based on the best interests of the “SPORT” are ridiculous.
As for a mere player not being able to understand the complexities of a paintball owner’s challengers enlighten me please !!!!
As a mere player my day job has me leading a team of upto 20 + highly trained individuals looking after 340m pounds worth over work under strict controls on both time budget in the Centre of London with government and local authority issues to resolve with a time scale that does not change.
I’m sure that a couple of hrs of your time I could start to understand your issues and perhaps help!!!

I’m sure that if you came down from your ivory tower / engaged your staff and customers and stepped back away from the Hitler type attitude you are displaying in some of your posts your world may seem a little better / or not as the case may be.
The point of this is “WE are a SPORT” we need to be recognised as one. Without the guys running the sites and everything else the SPORT in the UK would cease to exist however this has to be a mutually beneficial arrangement for the whole scene to survive. The people running the sites you are the service provider but the most important thing is your customers. Mr Barnett seems to have forgotten this / or never understood this in the first place. ”This is only my one sided opinion as I do not know him nor have I personally met most of the people posting”

I'm with you Monkey Boy. The stuff he posted about how the UKPSF really shows how he is a completely selfish scumbag. Yes, paintball companies are business out to make money but they are operating within a a pretty niche market and it's in the best interest of us all that the officially recognised body for our sport/pastime represents as much of the market as possible. By all means you're entitled to your opinion and perspective but blurting out crap like that about the UKPSF shows much much of a clattering f*ckwit he really is. Apparently he deleted the post but hurrah for screenshots.

@Monkey Boy , Excellent post. If only the majority of other people could look at things in that logical way.
That screenshot shows quite a level of contempt for the players and I think you hit the nail on the head with the reference to, essentially, 'players just pew pew'. Wrapped up in the whole hype of 'it's just cops and robbers for adults', the point seems to be missed that within the players demographic there will be the likes of business owners, senior managers, doctors, teachers, lawyers, judges, police officers, tax officials and untold other very intelligent and professional adults. The attempts to deny this by referring to 'dingy bedsits' and 'keyboard warriors' doesn't change that fact, no matter how much he tries to convince himself and impressionable others. All it serves is to constantly sling low level insults around at people with the ability to think and reason independently,
Over time, as is already happening, his ongoing manner and actions just results in intelligent people coming to the same conclusions as you and then, in many cases, deciding they don't want to support that kind of operator. All it achieves is to slowly change the demographic for his own world, where those type of people form a smaller and smaller part of it.

I read that letter directed toward the UKPSF, I found it incredulous that barnett had the gall to not only author it but to go public with it in the way he did.
It shows a clear lack of concern for our sport's customer base and just as clearly reveals barnett's true motives regarding how he thinks the UKPSF should be run - how dare he tell them what to do when his own track record of customer care, and indeed, the care he exhibits for his associates, is nothing short of treacherous.

Makes you wonder how much more barnett could achieve in the paintball industry if he was just a straight shooting all round nice guy that worked with others inside of the industry instead of rubbing people up the wrong way and then laughting off any negativity towards him as some kind of conspiracy against him or his company.
We have plenty of genuine nice people within the paintball industry some of who have been mentioned earlier in this thread and a fair few more that haven't that just get on with it without causing a stir or treading on others toes and alienating themselves from the vast majority of the paintball industry members.
Love him or hate him he has and to be totally fair to him come up with new ideas and pushed scenerio paintball to a higher level (whether his ideas were unique to him or from others is debatable at best) it's just a shame that he treats his customer base with contempt and try's his best to subdue any form of criticism by blocking,banning and denouncing anybody with an opinion whether it's constructive or not.

Mike - he may have done an OK job in promotion but if you want the real thing, the thousand pound gorillas in that field are Jim and Tim form Warped with their North Vs South event.
They, along with Ged Green and Ronnie Hollington provide professionally run events with no scandal or dramas attached - and you ain't gonna get ripped off.
If anyone needs persuading re the sheer contrast of these events, go on all the relevant forums and search for critical posts, and arguments etc concerning Ged Green's event in Birmingham or Ronnie Hollington's Mayhem events down south .. and of course the North Vs South behemoth promoted by Warped.
We don't see any on-line attacks at those guys and the reason is because they are not acting like barnett in trying to screw anyone over or promising what they can't deliver.
There may well be hiccoughs with those guys' events but nothing like the dramas that follow barnett around like a bad smell.
And one last thing of note, you will NEVER see Ged, or Jim/Tim or Ronnie Hollington indulging in the sort of behaviour on-line that barnett exhibits so predictably when he deals with criticism.
Nobody in our sport, in the uk, attracts so much negative commentary as barnett, not even close.
He is hated by many in our industry, he's now hated by an ever increasing band of rec-scenario ballers who've come to appreciate just how he works.
And this latest debacle has shone a light so that everybody can now see what lays behind that mask of deception - a singularly nasty piece of work ...
And from looking at the sheer amount of traffic this thread has generated, there's been over 25,200 views which makes it an all-time record-busting on-line saga of revelations which I doubt will ever be challenged again.
They, along with Ged Green and Ronnie Hollington provide professionally run events with no scandal or dramas attached - and you ain't gonna get ripped off.

Could do with possibly putting links at the bottom of the first post to the posts by Lee, Pete Russell and some of the other big ones so they can easily be found as this thread is getting a little unwieldy to someone who's not followed from the start.
