Ok for those that don't know me my name Is Paintball Pete Russell owner Paintball Pete's, President Australian Paintball Industry Association and Co-Owner of Action Paintball and Paintball Shop.com and have been in this industry since 1991 and a Player since Late 1986.

I had accepted an invitation to come and work plus spend stay with Tim Barnett and his family whilst re-building Shorelines Aberystwyth paintball site (which was in a sorry state of affairs) and to help with the Super 6 series in whatever role Tim needed me to do and other duties.

During the following months Tim and I discussed methods used in Australia many times from conducting paintball games and methods for the average punter, Nurturing stable teams, Corkage charges to traders instead of rent, and a few other methods that I see he has utilised.

I had put together a Refs crew called Refs Inc UK with the help of Tony (Frosty) Newsome-Verr like I had successfully done in Australia which was an independent body of Refs that travelled around Australia and to New Zealand to ref major and state events which was going well. ^Well after Refs Inc UK had Marshalled Stargate Tim wasn't happy with Refs Inc because he felt he had no control over us and it would cost him more money then what he was paying for his helpers of the event and rather rudely dumped us, plus I have it on good advice that later for the UK Scenario Awards Tim had changed the result for the Best Marshalled event from Refs Inc UK (Stargate) to another event.

Well after my 5 months staying with the Barnett's and being privy to some of their methods, practises and attitude, plus Tim's chequered past, and amazed at Tim's consumption of alcohol it was time to leave because I felt that my welcome had worn out.

So I had left the UK in November and returned in February to find work in the Paintball Industry in the UK or even buy into a site.

I had been back in the UK for about a month and I had answered a post on FB from a mate in Oz about why does he have to pay 4 months in advance for his paint at the Sennybrige Event by Shoreline I had replied to him that I did not like Tim's ethics on what he was doing and that's when it happened.......Tim had replied to my comment and in it he stated that he had issues with me as I had pinched his "wife's" ( whom I don't think they are really married) Panties and that I was making Suzy's 14 year old daughter uncomfortable where she wouldn't leave her room. Well I was flabbergasted by his comment and went immediately to a solicitor who stated he (Tim) could not do that and if you wish to proceed with a court case that I would win and that all Tim would have to do is declare bankruptcy to avoid any settlement or costs and that was going to cost me between 15-20 thousand pounds to fight it which was 30-40 thousand Australian dollars. Or place a statement on my Facebook site refuting his claim which I did.

I made comments that if I had done this why had Suzy warmly greeted me the way she did at the next 2 events and if I had someone really freak my daughter out I WOULD NOT allow you at any of my events if the shoe was on the other foot.

All I could think of was that Tim realized that some of his comments confessions and drunken rants were done in front of me and that he did not want anyone to believe me.

But that's not all................later I had paid to go to I think it was Vekkering with a group organised by shoreline on a bus Tour when Tim had sent my entry back not allowing me to come along as I did not travel or stay well with others in buses or motels.
Now about a week before going to Oklahoma D-Day I was informed that there had been a problem with the Vekkering Trip as the police has stopped the buses and had Tim charged with I believe with conducting an illegal bus tour with no insurance or licence to do so and that Al Murray would confront the person responsible for the giving the police this information when he saw him next......with Al doing just that he confronted me in Oklahoma, told me I could of made him lose him a government job that he was going for and that my name had been seen on the police report told to him by one of Tim's Brothers

Well that was the straw that broke the camel’s back I started to Al Murray that is was not me but probably been the same guy who had informed The US about Tim, the same guy who explained why the Army let Tim go and what Tim had done to his family, comments Tim had said about Al and how he had treated me (I don't think Al believed me and even when the truth came out that it wasn't me I still received no apology from him which disappointed me as I had the utmost respect for Al).

Thanks for your input Pete - I think it's fair to say that nothing surprises us anymore with regard to barnett's exploits.
This thread has been viewed [as of 8.30pm] a total of 19,600 times - the importance of this many people finally being made aware of what this guy is all about is recognised because it now makes it extremely difficult for people to maintain their associations with him - I'm sure barnett's next appearance at the CPPS event will be an uncomfortable experience for him if he decides to face the shame.
He's gonna need a brave face to put on as people walk past him whilst remembering some of the posts in this thread.
Still, he's a big strong boy is he not, a self-proclaimed fighting man and defender of women's honour; throw him a lance and a donkey and he'll be paintball's very own knight in shining armour ... or is it tin-foil?
He's made this bed .... he can lie in it .... come to think of it, he lies when he's out of bed

I wonder if the sponsored teams will rally round declaring undented loyalty to their Fuhrer in the hope he might throw a few extra crumbs their way for their misplaced display of allegiance ?

Will some people really ignore this thread for such a pittance?
And as they shoot their allotted paint, will they think about the acts of a crazy man and the damage he has caused on so many fellow ballers?
I know some will, but how many will grow a pair and stand up for the people who have been cheated, lied about and maligned and refuse their 30 pieces of silver paintballs?

After reading all of this, and knowing a lot of the guys mentioned personally, especially Tim and Jim from Warped, Ged from WDP, and Simon Cole, all people who had supported my team for many years until we disbanded in 2003.
Now back on the tourney scene SAD were considering playing Shoreline events next year, but not now.
I also saddens me that the Southern Masters is to be run by this unscrupulous individual.

Robbo I have just read and re-read all of the posts and problem I have is that you will not give Tim a chance to say his side.

Without a right to reply to a thread that started with a phone call a couple of years ago you could be open to a defamation court case if you don't allow him a right to reply. Not just you Robbo but everybody else who has posted against him. So many people have said so far that they will not play at his games that I think he will have the needed proof under UK law

That's a reasonable suggestion and under normal circumstances, that opportunity would be automatically allowed but ....... there's always a 'but' it seems, especially when it comes to barnett ......but, I will afford him the same degree of response as he affords others, and guess what Morphman, every time anybody made a comment that criticised him in any significant way, he would immediately delete and ban people.

And so the question arises, why should I allow him the privilege of a response on my site when he prevented people from doing so on his??

If you persuade me differently, then I'll consider it but you won't be able to especially since it's on this site, my site ... the same site as his employee came onto calling me a c##t and wishing I died of cancer ....ya know what morph, he has got the right of reply, of course he has, he can reply on Facebook, the very same place he knowingly accused Pete Russell of those terribly embarrassing and dire deeds ..... or he can go on sable's forum @tumbleweed.com or wherever he likes, NOT ON MY SITE !!!

And so Morph, you might be picking up on a slight sensitivity on my part and there's good reason for that, and I've explained the reasons why and so instead of trying to create an opportunity for the cretin to respond on my site, your time might be better served if your interest was directed toward the people barnett has bullied, denied, lied about and chastised ... you go talk to them first, don't get on to me and ask to allow that infection anywhere near my site and its members .... understand?

Oh, and just one more thing, don't ever come on here and try to crow-bar me into allowing barnett a right to reply on the back of some legal threat .... I don't give a flying phuck about the legality of this, you should be quoting legal considerations to the man who couldn't keep the necessary accounting records for his 'charity' appeal ... have you been onto barnett demanding that with an associated legal threat????

I might have misinterpreted your post but it looks unlikely when I look at the essence of your post which was to argue the perceived rights of someone like him.

I think that law only applies to businesses anyway, private individuals aren't included to the best of my knowledge.
