dale ford was a hired keyboard ...
He used to write a monthly industry news item called the Ford report but unfortunately it became a vehicle for sycophantic copy directed toward the people who advertised with him.
He's been a staunch defender for barnett ever since barnett paid for his air-fare from the US over to here for the uk paintball awards a few years back....the trip was a freebie for ford but it never crossed his mind to work out just why barnett was paying the bills for his trip across the pond.

Unfortunately, ford overestimated his own importance in our sport/industry and believed barnett 's act of generosity was due to the fact he (ford) must have believed his own ego.
barnett desperately needed a media platform to combat what was coming out of p8ntballer.com but the ukscenario and talkpaintball forums were tumbleweed junctions, their members and viewers were but an embarrassing fraction of our site, p8ntballer.com...

And so, ford was targeted by barnett as someone he could use for his own ends and the way to achieve that was by throwing a few hundred quid his way and the mission was accomplished.

To an extent, I feel sorry for ford but he threw his lot in with someone he knew was trouble and he turned a blind eye towards it..
In essence, ford is an ok person but he was incredibly naive and stayed loyal to a person who's ended up now as paintball's pariah.
Ford had plenty of opportunity to pull away but he didn't ... He was locked into barnett because ford realised he would have to concede he was just a patsy and had been set up by barnett in his quest to counter p8ntballer.com.
It failed all round ....

Wasn't Mr Ford allegedly present, but sleepy drunk at the famous fantasy 'Punch up" when hero former SAS hardman Dim defended the honour of his wife after being insulted by some ruffians (probaly under 12's). Which then transpired to be the reason (cover up) for his refusal into the USA due to his assault charge.

Nothing to do with drugs and all that.

Dale sucked Shorelines arse. Good riddance.

Dave, the first and only time I spoke to barnett he boasted he'd had to beat some 'guy' up who was supposed to have insulted his wife somehow.
I did think it a bit strange him telling me that in the first and only call.
Usually when people do that sort of thing they're not fighting men at all, they're wanabee hard-nuts who wouldn't be able to keep their hands up if it really came on top for him.
He's the stereotypical bully who can't perform in any meaningful way in terms of defending himself.

He relies upon picking on people he knows can't look after themselves. One day we shall meet .....

barnett's sphere of event promotion is fast diminishing - sooner or later he will find that promoting events is no longer a viable proposition for him both in the uk and mainland Europe as well as across the pond.
When that day arrives, it will be cause for celebration because we will have finally rid ourselves of barnett's pernicious involvement in our sport/industry and paintball's next bowel movement will excrete barnett down the bog.

From day one, his fate was sealed because shltting on people especially your industry peers is one heluva business model to adopt.

He's consistently disregarded all warnings, seeing them as personal attacks on him, not once did he entertain he was acting inappropriately.
If he'd possessed but one ounce of self-reproach or integrity he would have realised his course was doomed to fail.

I'm afraid barnett's mindset is indelibly ingrained as a pathology and he is unable to disentangle himself from his past let alone justify any of it.

I'm reasonably convinced they'll always be a consistent chunk of utter imbeciles who are willing to give him some money to play his games. Sure it might end up being the same 50 or so players following him around like sheep but they'll continue to live in ignorance of the far superior organisers out there.
