And pretyy stupid looking.

As for those gouges on the fram, maybe you could take advantage of it and maybe start miling a pattern or whatever on it? Definitly dont get it anno'd though, polish it up and it will look awesome mate!

If the gouge is quite deep, 1200 grit isnt going to clean it up. try something like 320 or below and that should make it less obvious. Or if your lazy, just throw a sticker over it :D

you need a decent filler instead of cheap putty, go to a car spray shop supplies and get some filler.

I used to spray grp boxes for an electronics company and could make the joinging seam dissapear with enough patience. Build up in layers. Put a thich layer on. let it go off. sand it down with about 120 grit. look for the imperfections.fill again. then use around the 340 mark. this should just about get rid of everything.

A good trick to get rid of imperfections is to use a filler primer before painting. Then sand over this with a high grade sandpaper about 400ish. (cant remember exactly been a couple of years since i did it)

you said you sprayed on clear coat - as in car laquer. If it is this should be baked at stupid high temps for it to work. I always used to wet spray this (paint was still wet) but if there was any problems with the paint it would blister. Its a 50/50 call.

Yeah...as I said...Isopon P38, easy sand...its an epoxy so, its rock hard when set...and its mouldable as well...you can actually reconstruct thing with it, given the patience...window sills, frames...my coving after removing fitted wardrobes...all without seeing what has happened..perfect finish...just rough up the body first to give a key and make sure its free from grease etc.
