People have different opinons on it, i think the venturi is better....
If you looks at the design it looks like it will spread the air more evenly over the ball, rather then concentrate it on one area like the open face looks like it would.
I dont think they effect the performance tho, cos if they did all guns would use th same design :)

My opinion is that all a venturi does is restrict the air flow. Oh, and ensure that the marketing people have a nice buzzword to plaster all over their product. Aerodynamics ensure that the air flows around the ball without the aid of funny-shaped holes in the front of your bolt.

Now delrin/aluminium - there's a difference. Delrin is lighter and self-lubricating, so there's no o-rings and no oiling. Result: less kick, faster cycling, lower maintenance and possible lower cocking pressure. Some delrin bolts suffer from a blowback problem though, due to the lack of o-rings and a slightly loose fit.

well cocking pressure isnt much of a prob at the mo, it has to be uber high anyway cos the ram is funked, but once i get an lpr and new ram hopefully it wont break quite so much:D

well i think ill try it out at training and buy it off matt if its ok:)
training should be nothing for me as i have about 6000 balls left from tournys :)

You didn't see the welts we were getting from the 2-week old Euroflite. Well, specifically the welt that Billy got :D

With an open face you should see a velocity increase which will allow you to turn down your operating pressure slightly.
A Venturi bolt is usefull for cold/brittle paint if you find that you're smashing it with an open face.
Largely I agree with Rabies that venturi restricts flow.
