You can call me Nicola - now regretting calling myself Oldbird! Yes there are lots of incidents Pete.

So is anyone from the early 90's actually playing still??? I was playing from about 17-22 something like that... and remember most people being quite a bit older than me. But I daresay that age gap is not quite so big anymore. Have spoken to Ray C Jnr in last year (and was horrified he was still involved in a round about way) But would love to speak to some of my old team mates. Only left Short Timers due to change of boyfriend (how fikkle). Also helped run Apocolypse Now and obviously helped a fair deal at Dragons Lair.

Hi Nic, you seem to have swerved my concerns re your post but hey ... no problem.

Ray Cain, snr and jnr are both still around mainly due to their site in Essex; both characters and both playing their part in the development of the game over here in the early nineties.

As for people still playing from then??
I can't think of any apart from occasional games from Ledzy maybe, but apart from that, I think they have all bitten the dust.

I remember the Short Timers with some affection more because they were the banana skin for the Preds ... I don't know why or how they used to be able to do it, but they won more games against the Preds in them days than any other team.

They [Short Timers] didn't win many events [The Preds still won everything] but they certainly were entertaining to watch that's for sure.

Do you see anything of Paul or Darren any more??

I liked them two guys but they always seemed to be getting into some form of scrapes in their businesses for some reason ...

Still, happy days ... or maybe a better description could be 'interesting' days.
Take it easy Nic !

I saw this thread while looking through some of my Dad's old paintball antics. (Lee Farmer). He was a Short Timer and played for Steam as well for a bit (I think) with his brother Dean, Darren Hall, Paul Braybrook etc. I can pass a message on for you if you want as I want him to get back in to paintball as I am coming of age where I want to play as well now.

Hi there guys and gals,

I just stumbled apon this forum, can you imagine my surprise that other people still remember the 'Timers ! !

I played for the Short Timers Young Guns around '89/'90 as a young pup of 17 and was a regular at the shop in Leigh Broadway.

I recognise a few names here Robbo and John Sosta, Hi !

Its nice to see that Darren is still alive and kicking, has anyone heard from Paul Braybrook recently? A friend of mine who was also fellow 'Timers Young Gun, ran into him on the Airsoft circuit a few years ago, it would be great to get in touch.

Good luck to you all,

Simon Cooper.

Hi Simon !
Paul and a few of the other Timers are on Facebook as is Claire Hobbs [Bad Company] who's in touch with all those guys; if you're on FB, you can easily catch up with them there ... Steve Mattacott [BC] and his ex wife Jenny are all part of that ol' school network.
Good luck!
