Vaseline for cockers ?

A friend of mine bought a new Evolution X last year, Belsales told him to use vaseline.

Would that go for all cockers, or is their something special about the Evos ?

Never tried Vaseline myself and I can't think of any reason why
not, it is a petroleum based lube.never occured to me. I think it would work fine,
