can i oil the rod which goes into the ram or not? cuas that may be the problem y ts not cocking quickly? wot u reckon??

First of all Air Lube is generaly A T F ( automatic transmisson fluid)
it will work but only if your useing the gun regularily, if the gun sits for 2-3 months with out being used the ATF turns to glue,
especially in the regs. You say your gun is sluggish, I expect you already have the works gummed up. Take the gun to someone who
really knows cockers and have them take it COMPLETELY apart
regs and everything and thouroghly clean everything, also this
would be a good time for you to learn how to do this yourself so watch how its done. When assembaling the reg use a very fine
petroleum grease (not white or lithium) or 3 in 1 oil, oil all O rings
with a Petroleum based oil , at least 3 in 1 grade, finer is better
DO NOT USE mineral oils or gun oil for firearms, these will destroy O rings. Have them take your grip frame apart and give it a thourough clean as well (often overlooked) and use a fine grease
there as well. I have been maintaining my own guns for 15 years
and this is what I have learned. ( the hard way in some cases:p )

huh ?
A question on Air Lube being transmission fluid

Does that apply to Gold Cup Paintball oil or other lubes like the Inferno Lube Belsales/Powerball sell with their Infernos ?

What lube do you recommend to use with Cockers then, so this "turning to glue" doesn't happen ?

If its red, give it the sniff test, if it smells like ATF thats because it is.As I said previosly you can use it just be aware that if it sits
for long periods it gets gummy, that also applies to white or lithium grease. Most aftermarket paintball suppliers buy oils
and Atf in bulk and put it in little containers with fancy names or logoes and charge you a buttload of money for it. Im a goldsmith
so I have access to fine oils through watch suppliers, but that dosen't mean you can't find simillar products elsewhere, for years I used nothing but 3 in 1 oil in my cocker, worked okay, now I
use a finer oil made for watches. The grease I use comes with
the flexible drill shafts we use at work, supplied by Foredom.
As far as aftermarket lubes go chose clear or pale yellow.
Sewing machine oil is good and cheap just make sure its not a mineral oil.
