Yea it's a huge jump, but maybe the format change to M500 will suit them? Either way, its good to see to some new blood in the CPL.

Nothing against them ,but the label of sport is diluted when a non contender and a team no one's ever heard of, buy a season in the top flight. We all know money is a big part of paintball ,but this rather slaps you in the face ,when other teams are grafting and for what ?

It does suck that teams can buy in, but this is not a change. Why would other teams see it as a slap in the face if they have the same exact option though? Because they can't afford it, or choose not to?

I'm not sure it's a bad thing that teams can buy in, it at least proves the fact they can afford to be there. Plus allows for new blood and teams to be showcased.

Missy ,it would be a slap for any team who PLAYED better than a team who bought their way in .Just because you are talented ,but not wealthy should not be a barrier .....if you think this is a sport ,with the best at the top .What every team strives for . If you accept that it is just a pastime where folk with more wedge than talent can walk to the front of the queue then you will not see anything wrong with this. Right or wrong ....just depends on where your standing .

Totally true, and why I think it 'sucks'. I guess my point is that this is not a change.
There are still 2 ways in. Buy in like chumps, or win-in like champs. If you are good enough for option 2, then you don't need option 1...

The reason they let people buy in is because attrition is pulling teams out of the top division faster that they can be replaced. Just sending up the top team(s)from the lower division is not enough to keep the top division full. They could go down the list, but some teams decline to go up even if they would be next in line. Some teams can't afford to go up and stay up.
That said - The only way to be sure that the team has the financing necessary to stay in the division could be to have them prove it by buying a spot...

Totally agree ,though Icon and Tigers were "in " for 2016 on league position .Just ran out of money. The divide in the league will just get larger.Possibly a change in the format to have relegation deciders ,bigger groupings so lower teams get to play their equals rather than just get smashed and decide league position by who got hammered least.

Important Notice Regarding the NXL Las Vegas Venue
  • No access to the site on Thursday until NOON for anyone not practicing or setting up a booth.
  • Registration opens Thursday at 1 PM, Closes at 7 PM. Re-opens Friday & Saturday mornings at 6 AM.
  • Gates Open at 5:30 AM Friday, 5:30 AM Saturday and 6:00 AM Sunday
  • Webcast will be live Friday, Saturday and Sunday at GoSports.com

Important: Not only is the Craig Ranch Regional Park a public park, but it is apopular public park cherished by the community. Throughout set up we have loved meeting the many families and local outdoor enthusiasts who have been enjoying the park and asking questions about paintball. We have been handing out hundreds of flyers to the residents informing them about paintball, where they can play locally and inviting them to check out this weekend's NXL event. This could be a great opportunity for paintball to be positively introduced to many future customers.

Anyone caught testing paint, intentionally shooting at or dropping paint on sidewalks or any of the park structures will be ejected from the event.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to take care of this venue, your hotels, and to remember that you are a paintball ambassador. You are traveling to the city of North Las Vegas to compete in the sport you love at the highest possible level. Many of you also work in the industry and understand how crucial positive exposure is for the future of our sport. In order to be respected and appreciated, we must treat others with respect and appreciation. This includes your interactions with the wait staff at your restaurants, front desk clerks, taxi drivers and spectators at the event. Thank you for helping us grow the sport and ensure we are able to continue returning to venues such as Craig Ranch Regional Park for many years to come.

With great appreciation,
The National Xball League and Sponsors
