I think you'll find it's gonna be four EXL events with divisional XBall tagged on underneath with maybes a Toulouse tournament that has an open class XBall tourney where the EXL teams along with any NXL and divisional XBall American teams will be eligible to play as well as any Euro teams that may fancy a little go.
I think it maybe capped at 16.

This does change things slightly because it now locks EXL teams into five Euro based tourneys (if they elect to play Toulouse XBall) which consequently affects any trips outside of Europe.

As things begin to take shape this side of the water - managing teams professionally becomes more difficult

Presumably that would mean 4 divisional Xball events at the same 4 events as the EXL?

What happens at the other 4 events? will the PL still be introduced?

Would there still be the Div 1 7man as well as a Div 1 Xball at those 4 EXL events events?

AFAIK...

1. Yep, 4 divisional events at same events as EXL. The open XBall bracket will be open to all-comers.

2. PL will be at other events, although Toulouse will have an NXL/EXL/Divisional XBall bracket.

3. Apparently so - not everyone wants to play XBall, or has the size of squad necessary.

There are plenty of teams - and plenty of people in the industry - who still believe 7-Man is the way to go.

Limited to 16 teams? I can see that being a problem, there will be way more than 16 teams from asrocc the world that wana play Xball i would think.

Potentially all 8 of the NXL teams, all 8 of the EXL teams, Euro teams like Hardcore, Powertrip, Malera, Cyclone, Storm, Syndicate, PGI Sharks, Hellwood, Scalp, Method, and then US teams like Dynasty, Avalanche, Bushwackers, Bad Company, Strange, Wone, Paintballgateway, the ex LA Ironmen's new team, Naughty Dogs...the list is endless.

Thats potentially about 35 teams vying for only 16 spots. First come first served? With a lot of disappointed teams.

It was said earlier that 8 or 16 teams would be best for double elimination with no byes, would a 32 team system at Toulouse work if the team interest was there?

Oh man, divisional x-ball all the way! that would really rock.
i think one major advantage is that it would shake things up a bit, teams would be forced to poach players to make up the rosters, it just might change the ballance of things and make next season less perdictable and more interesting to watch.

Whatever the case may be i expect to be playing a lot of ball next season...

How come? You gonna organise more walk on days at campaign?;)

Are there the finances to buy 2 scoreboards, 2 fields, and have the support crew for 2 fields at MS events? Looking at double everything, while the cost of entry stays the same. And since the EXL teams entry goes on prizes for the EXL event winner, where would the cash come from? Would Div 1 entry fee go on prizes, or infrastructure?

well, with 8 events to play this year, and the possibility of divisional x-ball, there's a lot of choices, and a lot of chances to play ball.

(plus the talk of lots of paintball in the London area too, well that adds up to a lot of paintball).

One thing i would add as well sam, in addition to cost, X-ball takes a lot more time to set up than regular 7 man due to the nature of the extra details that are requirements to using the X-ball format.
