My 3-week old eclipse 2011 pod pack just got totally merked by the washing machine.

Never had a problem before when i used a DYE assault harnesss.

Are there any special washing instructions for NXe packs?!

Chewed up.....

Absolutely merked....

Wrecked....

Gutted :(

EDIT: my current misery has caused me to post this thread in the wrong section  Please move to appropriate sub-section. cheers.

@basktm: it was on a 30C cool wash. Having thought about it, you are probably right in saying that the pack caught on something as the washing machine was making violent noises and vibrating rather alarmingly during the spin cycle that forms part of the 30C cool wash programme. Then again, it's the same programme that i previously used to wash my DYE assault harness to no ill effect

@WingNut: cheers for the advice but it's more than likely that i'll be omitting the washing machine completely when i next clean up my replacement pack!

Saying that, i washed my NXE last week, but because of the moaning wife, i was forced to put it in a pillow case to stop the noise and protect her 'Special' machine. :tsk:

maybe she saved my pack, :D :p

i wouldnt be surprised if that were the case. The DYE assault harness is far more "collapsible" when stuffed into the laundry drum along with other bits of bulky kit.

The same cannot be said of NXe packs, most likely due to the leather embossed rigid lumbar support and increased width of elasticated adjustable waist straps. The washing machine was left in such a bad state....black residue (from annhilated foam inserts) practically stuck to anything and everything.

A costly lesson learnt the hard way lol.

c'est la vie as our french compatriots would say

As others have said, put the pack inside something - I usually put my pack into an old pillow case when it needs cleaning...
