Agreed with the others - Great day, good fields (Dye and JT played better imo, Sterling field wasn't as aggressive, but still very playable), best reffing in the UK I've seen (esp. the Quake crew - you guys should Ref Millenniums!) and a great atmosphere - but Syd, more spokesmodels/eye candy please, one just ain't enough :D

Shadow - not having a go, but if you stopped looking for excuses and looked to change your mindset about why you lose (don't blame the Refs for a bad call, rather look at your plan/teammates to stop the "dodgy run-thru" or whatever it was that you were unhappy about) you will find you'll improve.
I saw no biased calls all day - some missed (show me an event that doesn't have missed calls) and one or two late/indecisive calls (that didn't really impact the games I watched), but aside from those minor things everything I witnessed was spot on.
Just something to think about, not looking for a fight.

great day, probably the best "local" tourny i have played.

i have a question about the self check zone - before it used to be nipples to knees as you could see that area when playing and it was one of the marshalls jobs to check areas outside that area - because it is impossible to check you pack.
now it is that you have to self check you whole self (including areas where you can see and mau not feel a hit). i saw it on a few games that i watched and a few that i played in a place they would not see or feel - including a flap on pack. they got 1-4-1 due to it, i do understand that the 1-4-1 rule is in place so that it can balance out some one that has played on (whether intensionly or not).
people are going to continually be affected by this until one thing happens - there are more marshalls on the field.
i hope that syd sees this as that pretty much was the only complaint i heard over the day. if it is because you need more marshalls then please PM me as spartan have some experienced players that maybe able to help at some events.

Yup, great day all round, and a VERY close call for the top of Div1 with 6 points between 1st and 3rd I believe.

Watched a fair few games and didn't see any really bad calls, a couple were missed but like Pinki says that's gonna happen when the guys have to get through 42 games in a day.

Cheers to Sid and crew, We'll see everyone at Ashford.

Thanks to all teams, and props to XM7 for reducing their record time against us even further ;)
Sorry about that chap, you were very gracious at the end though so hats off to your lads.

Well done to the Syd for brininging the place and players together for the event, and for his minions for setting the place up so well. Marshalls, thanks for doing your job, I felt it again moved on to be more consistent and professional and I know some of you got not just a verbal pasting a lot of the time.

Thanks to all for making it a friendly and enjoyable day with some great paintball going on.

Cheers to Phoenix and Zap paintball for the Chronic paint that was nothing but excellent again.

thanks to syd, mel and syd's little help rich and all the other crew with helped to put this leg on. also a very big thank you to all the marshals you all did a great job guys and girls keep up the good work.

But a very big thank you to all the teams there, with out you guys there would be no NSPL.

Cheers Garfs, us XM7 boys couldn't believe our luck in that one! :p

Marshalling was good, props to all who attended, it was a great event and as a relatively new baller it was a great experience.

After reading a load of posts about some past tournys with the new 1 4 1 ruling, i think that the martialing yesterday was rele good, i didnt see a single martial abuse the rule which is good :)

EDIT; Anyone know who the guy(s) were taking photos and where they will be hosted??

People need to remember this is a Europe-wide rule, not some NSPL little bit of craziness.

As you say, the rule is there for a reason - to reward the other team who have been unjustly penalised by playing against one more player than they are legimately entitled to. If a marshal sees the hit strike, it is not a one-4-one - only if the hit is later discovered.

What it does, in a very positive way, is to put more onus on players to be be more self-aware, and to keep an eye on their team mates as well. I think it's a brilliant rule that makes sense, is fair, is logical, and was perfectly delivered on all fields. It was clear that whilst some may disagree, the concensus was in support of it.
