as a whole the marshalling was pretty good! the marshalls especially on the blue field were fair, listened to players and consulted all marshalls in the event of a dispute, thumbs up for the head marshall and his crew on that field.
+1
I've often been met with a "the call was made, tough luck, sign the sheet" response in the past, but the refs took the time to make sure the games were as fair as possible. Big thanks to those refs on field 3

I really enjoyed Div 2, the only thing that doesn't make much sense to me about the format is that you can't keep up the momentum of a win or adjust against a loss, I suppose you can but you'd be thinking a few games back. I liked how it was run, some of you may be complaining about the want for faster turnarounds but the point of the Division is to introduce teams to the faster pace of X-ball not throw you straight into it or it would negate the point of having the format this way. Though playing on the Div1 field did feel like X-ball! I don't know what happened with scheduling and if it was just us but a few times we played a point and went straight back on, found it alot of fun though :) Luckily we had an impromtu pit crew!

Had loads of fun, big thanks to all the teams in Div2 it was a really tough day and it was great to have to battle it out for every point, loved it. Looking forward to the next one :)

I think its a bit unfair to say the first round was a dissapointment - there may have been a few minor teething problems, but this is to be expected at a new venue with a new format. All in all i think the event went well and there is plenty of positive feedback and constructive feedback for us to note for future events.

The day was well organised and the few mishaps that may have happened were unavoidable - the main reason being for the delays were problems with air - which cannot be helped. Along with a few of the Div 1 games going into overtime. The race to 2 was a new format and some may feel this could of been organised different - which im sure will be noted, but we did try to run the games as smoothly and quickly as possible.

The 1v1 game was a little different, but as mentioned by Pete the "usual" rules did not apply in this circumstance. So in order to save time and decide a winner - Syd provided an easy solution. This decided the winner and to some extent provided a little showdown to those in lower divisions between 2 top players.

Rounding the above up and considering the new venue, new format and freezing weather! I think most will agree it was a pretty decent first event and there is plenty of happy faces. I am also sure that the April event, will be alot better as the feedback we have got will be noted and addressed accordingly.

Lastly - agree this thread has gone slightly off topic with Mr B. However, I am not sure anyone actually witnessed him shooting through the netting but if this did happen i am sure he is considering the action now, and if it happens again im sure it will be addressed properly. With the claims of overshooting, as a referee on the Div 1 field, this is sometimes hard to judge. As Matt HS stated and in Method's defence - players walking without hands on their heads can expect to get shot. Its not nice and sometimes unfair, but welcome to Xball. We've all taken a few more hits and we've all given a few!

It wasn’t actually beadle, or if it was he got very far away from the netting before anyone turned round.
Half the issue seems to be James Beadle is the only players name you can remember. Anytime someone got over shot it was James Beadle who did it, even in the points he wasn’t playing he got the blame.
Its paintball, people get shot suck it up. I have seen far worse overshooting at over events without penalties being called. I have also seen half the people condemning beadle here bonus ball players themselves.
I thought the random player ban was more concerning with the quote. “I didn’t see who did it but he pressed the buzzer so I banned him”.

Div2 format: There are two trains of thought on this but I personally think the best format is splitting the teams into small groups and team A plays B then team D plays C whilst team A and B pot up then team A and B play whilst the other team pots ect ect. This allows the field to be constantly in use whilst the team gets ready and I THINK (though don’t quote me on this) it is the format the PSP were using when I was last there.

I like Beadle :)
So did I, but I've seen this clown do this kind of thing too many times so don't anymore. One day he will do this kind of trick to someone who won't stand for it and chin him. Being the bad boy of paintball isn't exactly cool or clever really is it.

But your right this shouldn't take over the thread so we will just brush it under the carpet....

for the first NSPL event for 2010 i did really enjoy it.

only things i would say need to be fixed are

snake side coaching: is there not away of moving the tyre wall back and putting up some netting?

air inconsistency: alot of the games on the div 1 field (near the end of the day) got held up cuz of the air, i think shock and LD and agg suffered from this. - btw was that what that big bang was?

Random rule inputting, - i know and understand it was a "what do we do now" moment, but maybe it might be worth having a plan b if a over time point is a stalemate.

Div2 : should be point after point no break (obv 2 min turn around time)

Safety and banning players.: in regards to the individual who shot through the net who will be named as "Jeremy Salm", i have no problem with him, but i have lost a huge amount of respect for him. its not only a F'ing stupid thing to do its also very, very un sportsman like. and for and SPL player it aint big or clever mate. Infractions as such should be dealt with in the highest of discipline. season ban for the player, team ban for how ever many events or what ever.

On a positive thou. Yorkie your new field is beautiful its felt like heaven after playing in swamps for the last 4/5 months

The format & Scheduling used for D2 is identical in every way to the PSP race-to 2.
