Do to the unfortunate demise of South Coast Quake, who were committed to reffing several NSPL events this season, I am on the look out for more referees to join NSPL ref crew, starting with Round 7 on the 19th August at our Reading venue.

Can all interested refs please email me on info@nspl.co.uk? PLEASE DO NOT PM.

I can only guess that this has been debated before. I did use the search function but couldn't see the wood through the tree's.....

I've also taken a look at the NSPL forum to see if it was on there.

My question is:-

Why is it that Div. 4 is unable to use ramping when all other divisions are??

I can't see it being any more difficult to police as all the other games are using it.

simple really.

....because thats what the rules say:rolleyes:

Rankings After Round 8

The NSPL Rankings are now fully up to date and can be found on www.nspl.co.uk

In perhaps the most competitive season of the NSPL to date, things are looking really tight in the Ranking tables after Round 8. With just two events to play, teams are looking for good results and ways to help increase their points, many considering attending both the final rounds despite them being regionals.

Division One
This division has been a battle between Cynergy Academy and Samurai for some time now with both teams bouncing from 2nd to 1st and vice versa from event to event. Currently the Cyn guys are sitting in first with 95 Game Points and Samurai are literally snapping at their heels with 94 Game Points. Samurai do have a much higher ED on their side though and should the two teams tie on Game Points after Round 10, that might be a lifesaver.

The battle for third place is equally tight with Maidenhead Trauma on 72 Game Points and Portsmouth Halloween on 70. Should we discount Snatch at this stage? I think not, they are just behind them on 62 Game Points, but tend to play all events and could drop a couple of those low scores by doing well at Rounds 9 and 10. Remember, its the top seven scores from the season that count towards the final Rankings.

Division Two
Impact UK's excellent performance at Round 8 has leapfrogged them in to first place, whilst Tsunami's none attendance drops them to third! Sitting smack bang in the middle, we have 2Hott4U and to be honest, this division could go to any of those teams. Have Freekz left it too late though in their bid for a promotion to Division One?

Division Three
The NA Angels did not play Round 8 and that, coupled with an outstanding performance from the Portmouth Uni crew, has given the Pompey team the lead they need to make their last push for first place. Demolition Squad have been slowly creeping up the table in the last few rounds and it looks like they will be finishing high in the Div 3 Rankings if they keep it up.

At the bottom of the table, Care Bears Alpha need to pull something out of the bag if they want to avoid relegation and join the Bravo team in Div 4 for next year. Remember, all teams having played just one event will be dropped from the final Ranking tables after Round 10.

Division Four
Relentless are the Powerhouse Team of this Division and are unstoppable - no one can deny them that. But the rest of the top five teams in Div 4 are also performing strongly at the moment and it will be interesting to see who finishes where. AP Havoc, Topcats, Cool As Ice Blue, and in2deep are certainly all teams to watch out for in the near future.

=========

Rounds 9 and 10 are around a month away. Its a battle of attritition right to the end between many teams and its so encouraging to see so many squads taking the challenge so seriously and helping to create a truely competitive environment for everyone to enjoy. See you all at the final two events of season.

Leading up to this weekend's last event of the NSPL season, the Rankings after round nine have been updated on www.nspl.co.uk

In Division 1, Cynergy Academy and Samurai are just 4 game points apart in their battle for first and second place. Behind them, Maidenhead Trauma, Snatch and Portsmouth Halloween all have a good shot at third.

In Division 2, the top three spots will go to Impact UK, 2Hott4U and Freekz, but the order of those placings will be decided this coming Sunday.

Division 3 is another tight battle between Portsmouth Uni and Demolition Squad. NA Angels are close behind them, but as they are not attending the last round they have no shot at first place. Samurai MV, the featured team in this weekend's webcast, are currently sat in fourth and cannot catch the leaders even with a straight run of wins at Round ten.

In Division 4, the commanding Relentless lead the way, but A.P. Havoc have crept up on them towards the end of the season. Mathematically though, it looks like Relentless are uncatchable.

Plenty of excitment in the divisions still and I look forward to announcing the season winners and loosers next week.
