The nightlifes alright, around Deansgate but anywhere else it's roll up the windows and lock doors.

Oh and the ring road sucks balls, loads of cozzers and rigns that are hardly in English

2 hours? i figure your speed to be about 140mph then:eek: (got any more point on the license yet ;))

Manchester has got an airport, cheap food and accomodation all a stones throw from the motorway.
Big swinging freekin mickey!!

London has;
Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted.
Channel Tunnel rail links
Dover and Southampton for Ferry links around 1 hr away

London makes sense for the international traveller as its just cheaper to get to for everyone.

But maybe that won't be the concern? Birmingham wold make sense for the UK but each leg isnt just about the players in that country.

London is best, its cheapest and easiest for all to get to, there are cheap accomodations and food and its London.

And I live there

145mph to be precise ;)

I know that people who don't live in London think that London sucks, but you can't ignore the far greater proportion of transport links that London offers compared to any other UK city.

While I agree with all the other points you make, I do have to say that, though I like the city of London (been there many a time), it's far from cheap. It is in fact one of the most expensive cities in Europe when it comes to food and lodging.

I loved your opening line by the way. I'm gonna use that one. :D

You are welcome to use it my friend

As for London being cheapest - granted centre of London isnt but the outskirts are pretty reasonable

And my comment centred on the complete package of travel and accom combined.

As for food - Cafes, sandwich bars and local restaurants in london outskirts are pretty reasonable too

It's all about the horribly high exchange rate of the british pound.

Ask your government to do a 50% devaluation. Thank you!

Some French guy in Deer Hunter exceptin' he said champagne not London.

But I live for some bang-up curry, Chinese and (especially; fried chicken don't exist in Sweden) KFC. Also some pretty decent pub foods, often with great beer.

The substantial money saved flying to London compared to many other PB destinations in Europe can buy a lot of value in the Big L.
