It was sarcasm, but not intended specifically for you to be fair. I just hate the hypocracy of having threads complaining that big events have no TV (or even webcast) coverage, and hearing how people would be 'happy to pay for it', and then as soon as it happens, there are threads saying "fxck that, I'm not paying 15quid".
Don't take it personally Gnome, I think your posts are generally HQ, I just have a short fuse for this kind of thing I think..
Part of my moan was the fact that we don't have the option to pay for it, which i would happily have done.

I suppose maybe if the online attendance in the states is good enough its maybe something they'll consider rolling out for Europe in the future

I'm not sure why, but i'm getting a hint of sarcasm from that post...

But I didn't mean my previous post like that, just the principle of xbox advertising the ability to watch sky for free on my xbox when i'm already paying for xbox subscription, just for them to say "actually, pay us a bit more and it's all good". And it's not like the £15 is going to go towards supporting paintball or HB, it's going straight into sky's pockets. Find me a live stream to pay of it that goes directly into supporting paintball and i'll sign up for that.
Couple of other things. If paintball does actually do well on this show, and they do it again, where do you think the $15 is going to go then? Of course it's going to go to the TV company. When you see a PPV event, do the proceeds go to help the sport ? The proceeds of the show will offset the cost of creating the show, and that's how entry level deals work.

If enough people watch, the station will feel that the TV show could be profitable. if no-one wants to pay for it, because proceeds are not going to 'paintball' then it won't be profitable. This isn't some giant earth-loving hippi-fest, its the uber-capitalist world of TV. They don't care about paintball, they care about ratings.

Agreed. I would pay for even if I wasn't going to watch it. There's a lot of hard work goes into buttering these fxckers up to offer to film an event. It's the least people can do if you ask me.

Gutted, I was really looking forward to watching the ESPN3 coverage. It's easy to circumvent the regional locks (google for Ultrasurf, download, extract, run) but even when you've convinced the site that you're actually from the US it won't let you gain access as you're not coming in from an affiliated cable company. Muppets, they're missing out on extra revenue due to daft provider tie-ins like this.
