I know you know what your talking about Pete!
I remember the very first time I saw paintball on tv back in 1995 (?), think it was the ESPN show of playing paintball hiding behind red and white doors on a cowfield in Orlando. It sucked and I have since never believed in paintball ever making it on TV. So far I´ve been right but after you made that promise I can´t help but crossing my fingers just a tad bit more for it to happen!
Hi Agge, I was playing in that televised event with the All Americans; it was actually an orange grove and yes, you are right, there were different coloured doors all over the place. It was the second ever event to be televised and pretty much sucked as you noted.
I think media coverage improved over the years in the way things were filmed and produced but we never attained the heights we aimed for, simply because the product we were selling didn't stand up to being filmed.
No matter how much money you threw at it, we could never really get over the fact we didn't have a focal point as they do in football, rugby, baseball or basketball.
The only demographic that would wish to see any of these productions was only ever gonna be fellow ballers and I'm afraid that number has been dwindling over the last five years or so ...... basically, our sport has been left holding the ball ....and then dropped it
