even though i have no affiliation and wasnt even at the trials ill offer these potential reasons:
1 - they couldn't make the trials
2 - they are good enough to play and welcomed to the team without a trial leaving the remaining places open for people to fight for
3 - they are friends of the organiser(s) and or team captain hence have (fair or unfair you decide) preference to play the event
4 - they may be chipping in the same as the donation of the green fee to the tryouts
im sure one or more of these may have already been alluded to by your own imagination but I thought I would write these ideas for your benefit.
