I would say get a marker that you can use on both a toury feild and a Woodsball. You wouldnt be able to do that with a tippmann. If you want any advise on what gun or if your local( Which u must be) i can let you have a go on a fewI'm going to have to reinvest soon. Do you recommend getting a proper marker, even if I'll mostly be using it for woodsball / scenario? Or do you think just upgrade to a better Tippmann?
GF, Mclovin has a decent enough back story to listen to (I have seen him in action), so I would take him up on his offer to try.I'm going to have to reinvest soon. Personally I'd always go for a tourney style marker as all the other ones feel a bit like a compromise unless you go for a mag-fed or tac-cap fed one, you are getting a somewhat realistic looking gun, but it has a big hopper attached, so doesn't really look like a real gun, or a paintball gun. Also I don't like remote lines, just because I can see them getting caught on branches and the like, off-hand shooting with a remote line can apparently be a pain depending on line length. Having said that a lot of people use them without any problem!I'm going to have to reinvest soon. Do you recommend getting a proper marker, even if I'll mostly be using it for woodsball / scenario? I was not saying against, what is great advise at the end of the day. But If you test somebodies marker, then don't just barrel in and buy a high price one. They may have mod it to them, and even though it works when you fire. To get it to the same could cost you more than you think, to get it to the same level.Personally I'd always go for a tourney style marker as all the other ones feel a bit like a compromise unless you go for a mag-fed or tac-cap fed one, you are getting a somewhat realistic looking gun, but it has a big hopper attached, so doesn't really look like a real gun, or a paintball gun. I have an Etha as a spare, but it works so well it's almost a waste leaving it in the bag! If you have any issues Eclipse are very helpful and pretty much all of it is user serviceable.
A good option is buying second hand, I got my brother a 2nd hand 2011 reflex rail from these forums for £220 and it seems great, although comparing it to the feel of the Etha I personally prefer the Etha.
I was also considering an Empire Axe, but they seem to be quite rare on the 2nd hand market. I wouldn't get anything that doesn't have an on-off asa (i.e. proto rail, invert mini) just because of the hassle of getting the bottle off and it is convenient being able to de-gass the marker to make it safe (assuming it purges the reg when the air is turned off, the rail doesn't). Although you could get an after-market asa for any gun, it just adds to the cost.
Absolutely agree, and remember this is only my view! In the end no matter which gun it is, if it shoots okay that's really all that matters. Even expensive guns break!I was not saying against, what is great advise at the end of the day. But If you test somebodies marker, then don't just barrel in and buy a high price one. As I said.... LEAVE YOURSELF TIME TO THINK BEFORE BUYING
Some good advise here Dev - thanks. I see your point with the mil-sim markers. I originally bought one because I liked the idea of tinkering with it and buying upgrades etc, however I think the more I play the more I will just want a proper marker.Personally I'd always go for a tourney style marker as all the other ones feel a bit like a compromise unless you go for a mag-fed or tac-cap fed one, you are getting a somewhat realistic looking gun, but it has a big hopper attached, so doesn't really look like a real gun, or a paintball gun.
