Honestly, if I had read your email, I probably would have just assumed you meant your prize money for the last event. If you had said SERIES prize money, or season standings prize money, or some such, then I'd have known what you were asking about, but maybe that's just a nuance of American/British english. (On the other hand, was the person you were emailing a native english speaker?)

All that aside, was there a promise in 2005 to pay series standings prizes? I'd say that if there wasn't a promise in 2005, and Millenium was kind enough to pay out money at the end of 2005 anyway, that doesn't obligate them to repeat the favor a year later.

Basically Psycho, if a promise is made to someone and they enter into an arrangement based upon that promise, the promise is binding as soon as a penny is handed over/cost incurred at the benefit of the other. If they were explicitly promising an overall prize for the 2006 season at the time of paying for the first event, then they have to pay you (not considering other technicalities). If not then you are out of luck..which seems to be the case.

Moral obligation and Millennium just don't seem to fit well in the same line of thought. The way they have treated sellers is crazy for a start. Imo, even the 'many' do not have a voice against a monopoly in this kinda situation, so players union or not, it makes no difference really. It's especially a chronic problem when there is a failure at the top to recognise a major aspect of their business as an entertainment medium for paying customers. I'm sure Pete's mate "all ears" Ulrich is on the case though, so things might be looking up!..

One of the "problems" with continental paintball leagues at the moment is they really arn't run as businesses. Hell, they don't even make SENSE as businesses. They're run more as a 'favor', and when people view something they are doing for you as a favor, things are likely to fall through the cracks.

On the one hand, we all want the best, all the time, but on the flipside, I don't think many players realize just how far short their entry fees and the other revenue falls short of what is needed to do it right.

Looks like they forgot to delete the part about significantly increasing the prizes when they copied over the 2005 page for 2006. ;)
