Hey intox, i'm a newbie too! Don't worry about diving in there with the players that know what they are doing. I've just bought myself a full kit setup and i can't wait to go get my arse handed to me :D

Pop over the the NQ newbie day and you are welcome to try any mask I have there (I have about 8 different masks at the moment ).

You are also more than welcome to try the Angel A1 (now fly'd :D), the ION or anything else I have there.

Thanks for all the welcomes and advice, would loved to of gone the event today but currently have a knee injury and trying not to make it worse.

Got some gear in mind, thinking of going for Dye - Pro I3 mask and a Tippmann A-5, the marker based on its reviews, the rental places i have been before i am sure used the 98's and they swore by Tippmann for a lot of the reasons i keep hearing mirrored. If this is a crazy idea then do let me know :) then maybe a simple upgrade of the barrel to a flatline or something once i have a standard of play in the field.

I am going to delve into woods ball first and scenarios as it is what i am used to then maybe look at the other side of tournament style play say after a couple of years if nothing is stopping me.

hmmmm

if you going to go for the a5 m8 just remember if you change you game scene you will have to change your marker i would go for a dm6 or ego 6 m8 then if you change your mind you dont have to stump up for a new marker.the a5 is ok had one myself but if you end up in an exchange against a dm or ego you will be on the loosing end they are a hell of a lot faster just a thought

also i play a lot of woods ball and the amount of tippys is on the fall they all siding for the sup markers (its all about fire power)

No its not, its about accuracy and out playing your opponent. And seeing as rof caps are at 10bps for most tournies, the A5 will handle that just fine. If though, you fancy something a bit shinier after a while, try some guns out and save up for the one you feel feels more comfortable in your hands.

A5s are heavey compared to most tourney markers, and there are no rules about taking tourny markers into the woods.
;)
But like you said, you can buy a woods marker and just get a tourny marker when you feel like changing your scene. That's fine, just means you've got a marker for each!

And I'd never say no to a nice scenario marker
Tiberus plz.
:D

Another thing to throw caution to, when you price up your marker, make sure you include all upgrades that you want. It can get hefty when you start adding costs.
