Newbie to the game

Hi,

My name is Tim i am from a town called Middlewich in Cheshire.
Joined up as i wish to take this up as a hobby rather then a once every couple of year kinda thing.

Struggling to get a group of friends to go to a site on a regular bases so hoping to find a some sites i can walk on after i have bought some gear and develop my non existant skills so i can become an acceptable player.

Just a hi for now, going to have a good read of the forums to see what is what !

Walk-ons in your area, i'd recommend the one they hold a www.unrealpaintball.co.uk normally the last Sunday of each month.

Thanks for the link, been having a look at a couple round the midlands.

As for the walk on's my biggest concern is i will amongst people who know what they are doing, where as myself i am at the bottom of the ladder with a handfull of non serious games under mybelt, is it wise to enter one of these early on and maybe annoy other players with my lack of skill? Or should i not think of that and try my best and keep in my head everyone started at the bottom etc ?

Maybe i should get a few training sessions in at a training site no doubt !

walk ons are all for a giggle mate, its basically your average punter day with your own kit. just go along and have a laugh, theres plenty of new guys at walk ons generally. its a good friendly, non competitive atmosphere

at unreal they blend in punters and own gunners , so you'll be fine

most of the time as long as you arn't being up yourself then the more experianced ballers will be very happy to give you tips and help you out with decisions etc.
i found that when we go to walkons you have really young players to older ones who get on just fine.
the best thing about paintball is that you can always talk about it to other players and so there is something to start conversations with the more experianced ballers.

thanks all for the replies want to find a paintball store nearby and try some of the gear, worried about getting an ill fitting mask as for the land of the empty wallet, i am hoping this will be a little cheaper then my other hobby of track days.

Pop into your nearest pb store, they'll let you try on masks and whatnot.
Maybe even put together a special stater package, if you ask nicely
