HIya and welcome to the board

There are quite afew teams in the north east
you are quite welcome to come down on one of our training days
at pointblank
there are a few teams that train there normally the first sunday of the month
or if you fancy a rec day just book yourself in
most of the marshals play for a team and will assist you anyway they can
or call into the shop in darlo Justpaintball whessoe road just off north road

Firstly Northern Fox, let me welcome you to the definitive online forum. Practically everything paintball related is covered on here.

Now, before you go and join a team, I would recommend you watch a tourney and see what all the fuss is about (assuming that you have not already done so!). There is going to be a large tourney up your way this weekend at Witton Castle, near Bishop Auckland. The sunday will be the day to go and watch, with 40+ teams turning up, but there is also a smaller inter-university tournament being held at the same place on the saturday. Lots of paintball being played, and an excellent opportunity to talk to people about what to buy, tips on playing, and getting started. They may even be some cheap guns for sale

A goodplace to start that is not too intimdating and has decent prices andloadsof ballers of varying ages, backgrounds wouldbe sparklies academy.
It's where I started and still go.
Try and contact sparklie chick on these boards...The site is in maidenhead and im sure she can arrange u be picked up from the station.

I've taken several friends and they are bowled over by the atmosphere , friendliness and helpfulness of people there.People will let u try their guns if you ask nicely and if you're really lucky they'll let u play a game or two with em.
I'll let u use my shocktech or impulse for a game.

That way u can get a feel for what marker best suits you.

Skullicious, I assumed that as Northern Fox was struggling to save for a marker, he would not be able to afford the expensive train fair all the way down to London to play at Sparklies Academy. Its a good suggestion though, and there are similar 'training sessions' up here. One at Crofts (near Darlington) run by the guys at Just Paintball on the first sunday of every month, although I am sure that there are some closer to you.

North East guys: Well Im up near Alnwick, so quite a way up but getting down to Newcastle can be fairly easy and cheap by bus
Im guessing Graham, Shuck and welshy are around the Middlesbrough/Durham area, but can I ask where you are John_Wilson? and im 18, so pubs aint a problem

Theres a site 40 odd miles west of me, in Kielder, but I can't remember the name. Not been there though (yet)
The place I went to was Elsham, Lincolnshire.

im the captain and live in blyth and the team office is in blyth so does that count....

the team is actually made up of players from all over the north east and north west
