Have you tried LOWERING YOUR DWELL SETTING. You may find that it is set extremely high, such as if the marker had been restiricted by its air supply? No that you have a decent supply the dwell is allowing the valve to stay open longer which allows a larger amount of air through. Try lowering the dwell first before butchering your marker is what I would do.
