i haven't been playing paintball for too long, so go ahead and laugh your asses off now and get it over with.

ok...now that you're done...i just purchased an angel a4 from a friend and know nothing about angels. i took it to the park this weekend, fresh out of the box mind you, and it was shooting really hot at around 350-400 bps (i was running it off a crossfire 68/4500). i already tried turning down the velocity all the way, but it still shot at around 310-320 bps. so the ref says to me that i need to cut my spring, and that is all he can suggest to me. i hate doing that but have done it before on my spyder, so i contemplated it and since i already paid admission, i cut the valve spring and it cut my bps down to 290-300 so he let me play.

now my question is, is this common on angels? did i do the right thing? did i really really really mess up my gun? was i even supposed to cut that spring? is there a good replacement spring (a softer one) for me so this won't happen again? is this part of the break in period for my gun? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Not common to Angels but common to Speeds and A4's, you were using a High Pressure air system...you have to use low pressure with this type of Angel...Low is anything below 500psi input to minireg. Which spring did you cut the one behind the exhaust valve? as that is the only one I can think of in an Angel other than the breech revmoval rod...you are lucky the A4 fired at all. But you need to replace it and attach a low pressure air source...there are floating around rearrangement of the minireg spring pack threads around...don't attempt as it is hit and miss if it will work with your A4...mainly due to WDP changing the parts inside the minireg mid production..but the manual does tell you to use low pressure and your friend should have told you this also.

Mark is on the ball, the ref probably meant the spring in the air reg i would have thought. There is no need to worry the spring in the A4 is easy to get. You will need to modify the minireg, off the top of my head i can't remember the exact setting, but i will do a search and let you know.

you want to buy me a fly also mascot!?!? damn, put up some pics when you're done with that sexy beast.

hey tom, ultimate god of angel tech information, do i still need to modify the minireg after i get the low pressure tank?

Tom, you know the problems attached to doing the minireg modification, how much grief did we both go through the last time we tried a walk through with it?...Much simpler to say just buy what is reccomended..well needed that is a Low Pressure system.

Darksentient...once you have a LP N2 system just attach and go play, minireg grubscrew adjustment as usual is all that is needed. If you have the money to do it and want to still use the air system on another marker I would suggest that you get an adjustable rather than preset, much better and you can set the LPR properly with an adjustable plus gain benifits from dropping other settings and then in turn lower the output of the N2 system, Presets rarely are exactly at the setting they are claimed to be...an adjustable will be on the money pretty much every time, recharge rate might be different than a preset...quicker I think you will find ;)

Nice one Toole
I was just wondering how comes none of the Brat pack above had noticed he had done that thrice.
Imagine being able to fire that fast and wanting to slow down.

:D :D :D

Hang on a minute, best check date

OK nope its not April 1st yet :p
