Posting a reply here for the off chance that it might be a legit query:
I was marshalling yesterday and we had two main groups come to play. They were all newbies - but one of the groups had played before. Now, because they had played ONCE before they thought that they were the freakin' bees knees and bloody invincible!! For the first 3 or 4 games almost all of them were wiping themselves down left right and center!
As a marshall this seriously pissed me off, and as for the red players (opposite team) they were even more narked!
The point is, that some of the newbies who come take it all way too seriously. They may seem extremely selfish in the wiping sense - I've been extremely tempted to do it before, especially when only learning. But the sooner these people realise how disheartening and aggrivating this is for the other players then the better. I'm sure most of you know what it feels like to have gotten a sweet, clean, crisp hopper shot on someone 50ft away only for them to duck into their bunker and pop back up with a recently polished, clean hopper!! It'll annoy alot of us - but have you ever seen the puzzled and bemused look on the newbie who just made that fantastic shot on their first day paintballing??
That in itself angers me enough to go and pummel them with paint - but you just can't do that! It's not the way to go about it, we need to educate them and if they're gonna play dirty then they shouldn't be in the game, we pull them the second we spot someone wiping no questions asked! Most newbies will then think twice, especially after a little chat, others will never learn no matter what - and they're the ones we could do without....
