I've been thinking about this "new" valve technology from lucky, and i've come to the conclusion that it could possibly revolutionise blowback markers, the application of one of these valves into a blowback marker would completely change the characteristics of the gun, ie: you can have a much lighter spring and hammer, and run at a much lower pressure, meaning the bolt would be much less harsh on paint.
Afterall a spring can only be more consistent than a solenoid cant it?

Any thoughts?

It would make for far far cheaper markers with the same performance as pnuematic markers, maybe even better performace? They would certainly be more reliable, im just thinking out loud, the only downfall i can think of would be blowback up the feedtube but i dont remember that being too much of an issue even with the high pressure blowback markers that i used to use so with a lower pressure i doubt it would cause much trouble atall.
The other good thing about a blowback with an extrememly light cocking mass and spring would be that the bolt would simply stop in the event of a missplaced ball instead of crushing it.

im not up on the technical side of things so could you tell me how it will make them cheaper? which valve are we talking about? the air assist? or one i dont know about?
you also have to ask yourself do the big companies care about performance when they are selling millions off these items for cheap anyway? and they are selling millions.

cheers

Yeh I'm talking about the Air assist valve, basically because the valve opens with very little effort you would only need an extremely light hammer and hammer spring to activate the valve, and because you can achieve a very light cocking mass using this valve you would also need much less pressure to recock the gun. resulting in a low pressure, low maintbainence, low kick, cheap, reliable marker.

I really think it could work, please someone prove me wrong. :p

Then you have the problem of having an spyder which is ugly, which in turn is bad for some

what is this valve anyway? I dont have a clue what you 2 are on about

thats cool - interesting reading :)

wouldn't hold your breath about it being cheaper though :D

Really? mint! thats my next project then :p how well does it work? has it had eyes fitted ect?

Not sure how well it works, I never fired it unfortunately.

It didnt have eyes it was just a normal mech spyder clone, with a balanced valve.

I guess the biggest advantage to a rental gun would be efficiency.
Double the efficiency means half the amount of air bottles to be filled.

Gentleness on paint is a good thing, but giving 'rental customers' anything but the toughest of paint is generally a bad idea.
