yeh, thats all well and good steve, but some people would like to know morew about the particulars before we part with said £100
You got the date, time and the venue
You will be told the rules at the captains meeting
You play the event and either enjoy it or not
You pay your fee, go home and post your views on here

Sounds no different to what you do every other month of the year
Open your mind and you might just be pleasently surprised

Arrogance much?

Sorry Eric, but when I go to play an event I know the format structure (7man, X-ball, whatever) in advance, what rulebook we will be using (even if the Refs don't :p ) and approximately how many games I will be playing.

I am genuinely interested in this new format, but all the video shows is a bunch of one-on-ones played an a field with tripwires running across it and players trying to reach a fench post?

If this format is "impossible" to cheat on, how is this achieved? No gun rules? Wiping is allowed?

To say that this is a revolutionary new format, but provide no details is simply the worst case of internet hype since Jim Drew started posting.
Apologies if Steve Bull takes offence, but I'm sure you can see the point I'm trying to make.

To be fair, we'd love to publish all the rules on the forum, but because we have a good possibility of the format being televised (mainstream too, none of this 2:30AM ****) there is the possibility of there being quite a lot of money at stake in the way of TV rights. Also, if I type out all the rules and the structure of the format, it actually sounds quite dull. There's no way to convey, in writing, how much fun this is to play so we're trying to get a few teams to the first event on speculation alone. Once the first event has been held, there will be, I'm sure, feedback posted on here whereby the folks who took part will be able to post there opinions. This will promote the format far better than Steve, Andy or I ever could by publishing all the ins and outs of how the game's played. I'll PM you my phone number & if you are thinking of entering a Tigers team, I'll quite happily go over everything with you on the blower. At least you'll have a better idea of what you're in for, plus it wouldn't do the format any harm to have a top-level team turning up to give their opinions/suggestions as to what, if anything, we could do to improve upon the idea we have now.

Not Arrogant Pinkie, young sir
When I posted that I knew as much as you
I have had nothing to do with its inception or set up
I just believe that for what its costing and the fact
that this event is happening off season, people should
view it with a open mind and go and have some fun
You are going out and shooting paintballs just the same
:D

i know its early in its inception but its not *that* cheap and perhaps some kinda discount inventive might get the ball rolling?
(£33 a player each compared to £35 on series legs)

as it stands im just getting some mates together to give it a bash so no offence intended. sounds like something interesting and anything fun gets my vote

should be booked in now :D looking forward to it

No offence taken at all. I understand your concerns and there are very good reasons for "keeping parts under wraps". I would hate to announce something and then have to change it becasue of an outside influence.

Yes there will always be cheats in any sport but with 5 marshals looking at two players (plus spectators) it is hoped we can keep the cheating to a minimum, plus the penalties for cheating (i.e. wiping ) are very high so it will cost a team several places on the scoreboard.

14 games in the day plus play offs

Hope this helps and feel free to call me for more info.

Thermals will be needed if you venture to the northern wastelands.
