New Tournament to Take the UK by Storm???

If I entered I would want the £15k as advertised IF I won. £15k's worth of paint is going to be pretty hard to take home.
This stinks like a Turkish wrestler's jock strap, I wouldn't go near this event or these people with a barge-pole the length of the Mississippi.
Give these people money at your peril but you have only got yourselves to blame when it all goes bandy.

Im trying to sort some thing out with kitty, to try and sort this out.
If the bad press caries on i will just cancel, doesnt bother me, just a loss for anyone who wants to play paintball, whether it for money or fun.
The first idea was to setup a tourney for people, giv them some free kit for winning, but thats not what i want to do, I like playing myself and want to see more big tourneys around.
I'm happy to meet and organise a tourney to how you all wanna play, as you can see we manufacture our own arenas, so its more cost efective for us than places like millenium and others having to pay for all the equipment, netting etc, then paying others to setup.
Im sure you can see my point, the figures add up.
Come along and get involved, i'm more than happy.

This stinks and I tell you what, all I am ever concerned with, is the risk to ballers losing money or getting conned and on that basis, you have said nothing that would convince me you are legit .. not one thing.
The 'bad press' you mention isn't for any other reason than because your initial pitch was nothing more than a bunch of horsecr@p and as such, if canceling doesn't bother you then do it but don't try to tell me, or the members of this site, it's gonna be their loss .... you are not in a position to suggest this in any way !!!
Firstly I have never met Ian, However wee tried to sort something out for the students a while back but health and safety at university got in the way. I have had many phone conversations with him and he came accorss very enthusiastic and was a pleasant charector.
I am going to meet with him soon about using the field for a student day but this has nothing to do with the tourney lol Besides ill be in the states again lol

especially when paintball is concerned, he is probably someone you want to be comunicating with being that he is doing so much for PB in general atm.
Ian I think people are going to be sceptical, including myself about this tourney, thats a fat chunk of change for prize money and already we have a ton of tourneys here in the UK. Hell had i not spoken to you in length before I would be of the same opinion.
Perhaps work on your profile as a person and player first, get out get known meet people. the PB comunity is like one giant family everyone looks out for each other and one whiff of something that looks to good to be true of course they are going to be wary.
I do however look forward to trying to sort somethign out for the students. Perhaps you need to delay the tourney, get known and be a little more realistic..... and for your own safety do not feed the Robbo.... I mean that in the kindest possible way.

You are trying to promote the sport yet no one on the UKs National site has ever heard of you (apart from Kitty who knows more people than the Queen
)Then you Email everyone from a list that was sent out to all NSPL members by Syd, basically obtaining their Email address's under false pretences. Putting Syd in a VERY awkward position!!! (How low is that?)
You then come on here and advertise it when you get slated in this thread. Perhaps you should of done that in the first place rather than basically steal peoples contact details.

As a team owner I wont be coming near your tournament but if it does work then good luck to you.
Try being honest as all I see is you are very underhand and have no idea how to help yourself or UK Paintball.

IAN1989. Have you the funds readily available (£15,000 ???) for the winning team if lets say only 10 team entered your tournament ?
The website lacks some serious infomation. What rules will be applied, or is there even a rule book ? Wheres the terms and conditions ? or will the teams be told when they arrive on the day ?
For any team to enter a tournament, they would need confidence that the organisers are well prepared and have some professionalism. The website has asked for marshalls to step up, or people wanting to marshall and will be given full trainning beforehand. £200 for marshalling the whole event ? which last for 10 days ?

We all love paintball, but what if the bad press came from yourself and your tournament. Something went wrong on the day due to ignorance or lack of organising. An artical in the news and papers isnt going to help paintball in any way is it.
I'm gonna agree with Kitty on this one: I doubt this dude is maliciously trying to deceive people in any way, but it seems pretty clear that he should have planned things a bit better, asked established tournament organisers for advice, got his name out, etc. Like most of the other posters here, I don't see how he could pull off what he's claiming to have organised. I might drag my UWE guys up to Cheltenham to get some first-hand experience of the outfit because anything I have to say at this stage is pure speculation, and as a wise man once said: "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation"
