Is it ok to use co2 gas with the dye proto until I sort out the air system
generally if the gun operates electronically then you shouldn't use co2 due to the damage it can do to the solenoid. only a few electronic guns can be used with co2 like the GoG eNVy/G-1

I know that Proto promoted the SLG as being able to use co2 as a starter gun (even though i'm sure from memory in the manual it says HPA only) but not so sure for the PMR.

Best place to refill is at site at a game matey! Usually if you contact site owners they won't fill up for you without you playing (though you might be lucky to find one who will). Best place to look is dive shops, they'll usually fill few a couple of pounds.

As far as air systems go, people are usually selling ones off in the for sale section on this forum. Or a "steelie" (black metal, 3000psi) system will do you just fine as a beginner. You can get these for £30 or so from most of the online paintball shops.
