Intheno I am not looking for credibility, just injecting a little fact, you can take it or leave it. I write anonymously because I know how annoying it is
your posts have been very refreshingly informative. Unlike all the "Pro" players on these forums who seem to know everything without actually having done something.

But with Strange in the NXL, now that would be interesting. Maybe Nick, you can get them over and show em how its done properly. I did like the way you guys took em out, really threw them off!! I too almost lost my voice that game. Pleasure to watch.
:)

1--the date. We are, I'm led to believe, in February 2004 now and the MB is running how many events, using how many formats on what dates and which locations to be announced or confirmed or whatever? I realize they's playing catch-up but c'mon.
2--And actually the USA series aren't much better except they know what they're playing if not always exactly where or when. Dates subject to change.

Its a venue war in the US. the PSP can't match Huntington Beach. A Disney parking lot is still a parking lot, just on Disney property. The NPPL can't be happy with at least 2 of thier venues from last year. The race is on to get another winning venue, with the kind of facilities and spectators that the teams want.

The Millennium are a different story altogether. If they are noit careful the Euro teams will all be going to the states instead of the other way around. They went to Europe for the last 3 years because the events were better, there were less US teams last year and unless something drastic happens there will be less again this year. So what do the Euro's do, they start up an X-ball league, the same format that has forced up to 50% of the original X-ball players to leave because they did not like the structure of it - genius!

Good point well made.

Plus the other thing is it is February and still waiting for dates to be confirmed and venues. WTF?

yes But the NXL teams / players could not play other events, where as exl teams CAN play other events, such as nppl. psp Div 1, etc

I didn't realise there had not been a single date released. Thats baaad!
Some have been released and some have not! They have 8 events and only 5 dates released, and only ( I think) confirmed 6 venues.

So not good for teams really that want to know.

The NPPL announces a discount for the whole season if you pay it all up front, but they have only finallized two out of five venues. What Intheno says re venue wars makes that make more sense, but it is still an irritating irony.

I believe the NPPL will want to go where the crowds are. The problem with this is that where there are crowds there are fire regulations, health and safety inspectors, mayors and the like to deal with, which means long discussions and negotiations. Players, we can't have everything, great venues announced way in advance, great reffing, perfect weather, etc. in such a short space of time. I hardly think the NPPL or the PSP will relax until all the venues and dates are sorted. I expect they could both do this quickly so long as the teams don't mind being in a field in the middle of nowhere.
Look at the flak that the NPPL got after New Jersey, or the PSP after Vegas...
Time for teams to get behind whatever series they want to play and stop slamming them, we have never had it so good!

So you can't plan out the entire years paintball schedule at the beginning of Feb - big deal....

Look, I support the NPPL, and I understand the reasons that the venues are being announced slowly. If you read over anything I have ever written on this forum re the NPPL, it is almost entirely positive, because I believe in what it is about.

If you start talking about paying for something, though, it is at least nice to know if that something is in Chicago, Boston, Denver, or what. I realize that this a promotional price we are talking about to help the NPPL plan and have things sorted early, but commiting to attending an event that will be somewhere in North America is sort of worrisome for some folks.

I can live without planning everything out in February, but somebody is talking about paying for it in February, so...
