Not much is made of the big picture, the nxl guys have begun to dabble and the sponsors have signed on to the S7 nppl. Is there a new king of pro paintball in the states? What will the ego's that own the PSP do?

Now if they would just merge and run an event per month next year from Feb to Nov. Xball or 7 ?

1. Why? Xball (or lack thereof) is only thing that would keep to seperate leagues going. I think it is here to stay. And there is obviously a split over the preferred format in the consumer base.
2. IF Richmond allowed Xball format to be used in PP events, the PSP is dead. So they probably have an explosive necklace around Richmond as leverage.

A, I think you'll find the XBall option was offered and subsequently turned down by the powers that be in PP Land.

Robbo,

Are you serious? Any thoughts as to why? There is the logistics. If one league was really the size of the two combined that, on a monthly basis, would be hard to pull off.

The action on the field is the same but the concept of "matches" is just so much better for 'following' a sport.-but I am preaching to the choir. hmm odd. Don't they know that having one large product to present as the pinacle of the 'sport' would draw more outside sponsors. If you have 1000 at each event big deal, if you have 2500 and 1 million following the action at home then someone may part with cash.

A, IMO, when you consider the reasons why the split was caused in the first place, it's not really surprising PP would decline such an offer.
Why keep the enemy alive?
I ain't for one second saying XBall is the enemy here but XBall does come with some baggage and part of that baggage is the very reason PP decided to throw its lot in with the NPPL, break away from the PSP and create what we now know as the NPPL tourney circuit.

Old wounds run deep Aaron and an even deeper wound has been inflicted and continues to be inflicted (SP lawsuit) so I can't really see PP being too receptive when it comes to piggybacking anything on the NPPL and end up helping who they might perceive as mortal enemies.

But..things change...you just never know what might happen, perhaps Ole Richmondo has a plan...:)

I mean, if lawsuits were dropped, Jerry makes his peace with the big man and PP are receptive to these overtures, then and only then we might see XBall in the land of the NPPL....ya just never know mate :)

But then PP would have to share. Besides they is promoting a specific form of PB and trying to build value in their commodity and mixing their flavors would only water down the product.
Of course, if, at some point in time, they were the only game in town it might be different. Till then, it's Thunderdome, two leagues enter, one league leaves.

EDIT ADDED: Doggonit, Pete. Beat me to the post.

does richmond own the x-ball concept? cause if he does doesn't that mean he could partner up with PP and the NPPL and shut down the PSP?!
