Yeah, the mayhem knights train at mayhem in abridge. The guy too talk to is dave, if you ring the site and ask for him im sure he'll be happy enough to let you come down to a training session and let you get a feel for things.

If you decide you want to buy all your own gear, I have a complete set up going for sale and I live in east london (mile end). Literally everything youd need + more, all in good gear and in good condition, looking for about £500, just PM me in the future if you're interested.

Lucky, that sounds like a really good idea I might just do that, so if I felt that... ok this is for me and I did buy a set of kit for like £250, would I then just approach teams and ask to play on like walk-on days?
It depends on what you are trying to do, and i'll make the point in case that you don't realise the difference, but my appologies if you do.
Teams like the knights/redskins etc play tournament style paintball on a bouncy castle 5 aside field.
Walk on days are for people that own their own gear but are held at woodland punter sites. So you turn up and play a normal punter day shooting of ridiculous amounts of paint at a tree!

90% of the guys on here play tournament paintball, and it is generally what's talked about, walk on's are what we do for a laugh:)

As you live so close, go and talk to wingnut and his guys, but talk to the mayhem crew too. Like i say, a good team will mock you, abuse you, steal your pocket money and sell you to slavery, but once you've been initiated they will take you under their wing and nurture you into a mean lean fighting machine.......and they might teach you how to play paintball too:p
