it would nevergo out of line as the arm wouldnt travel far enough back for the bolt to leave the back of the body....otherwise it would destroy itself....

the back block doesnt actually touch the bottom tube, it just looks like it does, the bolt and the vertical pin hold it in the right place and stop any movement

So it has a vertical pin connecting it to the hammer like in the turtle cockers and doesn't need a cocking rod? That would explain the lack of one in the pic but I thought I saw the bolt pin going in sideways. I know that the bolt never comes free of its chamber but it seems like an awfully short bit of travel and at its end I think only a bit of bolt would be left in the tube there. Not saying it isn't, but it just doesn't look very robust.
