i've got both :)

shockers great, very ickle but a pain to clean if you get any breach smegs, lots of o-rings to go wrong aswell ..

nerve, a bit bigger, but still light, never had a problem with the bolt shooting out, i have had it jam forward once, but that was me playing with the rebound settings :) ... simple to maintain, remove bolt, wash it, dry it, put it back ..

I use an upped shocker (evolve internals, NDZ manifold, q-loc, freak kit) and although its insanely fast (now there is a reloader b feeding it:D), light, easy to work on/maintain and there are upgrades available pretty much anywhere i cant help thinking a nerve would be nice...

Dont get me wrong i absolutely love the shocker, i've always wanted one and now i have one i love using it, but it just needs constant maintainance, like if you dont keep the bolt well lubed up even through the course of one days tourney play (e.g 7-8 games, 300-500 balls per game i can find it'l start to drop off in performance, but a quick bolt-out and re-lube sorts this.

The nerve is reputedly much more like the impulse in that minimal maintainance is required, its certainly not faster than the shocker as it uses the same software/frame (pretty much), but its much less complicated bolt-wise so less to go wrong if you like. If it wasnt for the price i'd get one, either that or an ego as they are just a sweet, sweet marker....few teething troubles in some cases it seems but give it till the end of the year and every problem imagineable will be ironed out and upgrades will be coming out of planet's ears!

Very true about the maintainance... If you don't lube then it will start to suck a little, and the bolt is such a pain in the ass to remove - many times I have stubbed my finger on the body trying to get the thing out :(

Nice Nerve btw... Think there is something floating about a Dynasty Nerve...

How do you mean mate?....u just whip the bolt guide out the back and then stick a barrel swab through the breech to get the bolt/fire chamber out all in one, its not difficult at all in comparrison to some gats.

Never tried it that way actually, might have to try it :p
I got an Evolve bolt and it's open faced so it can be a bugger to remove cos there's nothing to really push against apart from the side of it - then you slip off and hit your finger/s on the body itself.

Yeah, you cant use the old wooden spoon can ya ;) but seriously just get a nice juicy barrel swap and it works a treat, also put sh*tloads of dow around the fire chamber when you replace it....makes it easier to remove next time and doesnt effect performance due to the outside of the chamber being a non-moving part.

Also, i noticed youre running a z boarded egg, i used to have one and have since bought an empire reloader b....well recommended, its sooo much faster well worth the extra bit of weight, you can properly unleash the power of your shocker :D

shocker lube

i have never noiced the gat underperforming after a box or two. if you just lube every single 0-ring and every other bit of the bolt it will b gr8 4 a couple of trainin sessions.
btw, i use cinnamon butter lubricant instead of dow 33, and it sticks sooo wel to the parts and keeps the lube right where you want it, gr8 stuf!!!
