The site i help out at..(Phil Ham's) is on a farm...we have 2 Sup Air fields....a large Hay bail field..a field of "Huts" and a woodland area, thats quite a way away so we pile the punters into the back of an old army 6l diesel and take em up to it..
We only play tourney rules...including 1 4 1 etc..I try and tell them how to play a Sup Air field, and promote the "New Game" to them.

If the tournement scene is the 'way forward' for paintball, which i think most people will agree it is...it needs to be less 'underground' when people think of paintball they think of woodsball. Alot of people i know, who have all played paintball a fair few times are really supprised when i show them pictures from PGI and describe tournement play. The site i help at oftern runs training days alongside punter days (Ambush paintball, check out their monthly training days with Nexus! ) and there seems to be alot of interest in the 'machine guns' and 'bouncy castles'. I think the interest is deffinitly there, its just a case of getting it into the public eye.

Have to remember how much of the paintball site business is made up from Corporate and 'team building' vents. Half the fun for them is crawling about in the mud and woods playing soldier, its exciting, not knowing whats round the next corner, or cowering in a fort waiting to defend it from the attackers.

Sadly most 'punters' want to play a game with similarities to the Army, they want to get a platoon with their best mates, and run through the woods 'shooting' their opponents. Trying to pull in customers away from a site which have Tanks, Vans, Pyramids etc....is going to be hard.

Corporate, stag-do's and parties are what fuel the Paintball Site's income and from my experience working at a site they prefer to 'Hold Forts' or 'Eliminate Generals' rather than run through a bouncy field and pick up a flag.

A majority of us got into paintball that way, and I can safely say a large percentage of people who attend site days don’t have a clue that tournament paintball exists.......

We need to advertise what we do at the Paintball site's, leave flyers & posters explaining about Tournaments. Give them website's to look at etc.

The only problem with that is.....site owners may be reluctant to let us advertise for fear of us "stealing" potential returning customers.

Royston, Herts.
Apoc try their hardest to introduce more tourney ballers Mak !!!
We run a woodland site in the Royston area, all the customer are obviously intrigued as to what equipment etc we use, so we will show them and offer them some games on the Sup Air we have.
TBH the punters love the intensity, speed and pure adrenaline rush that you get from Sup Air, but at the end of the day most want to be "weekend warrior" types, so we rarely gain any additional teamates from it :(

One day at site we had a supair field being created for a tourney the next day and during the course of the day we put all the punters on it as one of their games.

Only a few liked it most wanted the fort again or rambo type woods games.

Of course a few people loved sup air and asked us about what we did but it was the minority I am afraid to say.
