We need more people playing in the UK its that simple, the team list at events is growing and growing but we need more.

I see it like this, most places people play paintball for the first time is at a woodland site agreed?
As we all kno this aint the cheapest way to get started, if you want to get alot of time on the trigger its gonna cost! So I had a thought,
wot if people didn't play woodland and were just chucked into tourney ball straight away. Rather than have loads and loads of woodland sites, I reckon that a site that is set up specificly for tourney ball, sup-air flat surface for example indoors or outdoors.

This means we aint got all these people who love paintball but have only played woodland paintball and its a matter of time be4 they try tourney and wanna play it.

Wot I mean there is, when people are playin in the woods there more unlikely to get there own kit cause there are not ALOT of woodland team or tourney s anymore. But if these guys come out play sup air and see we have proper teams and proper leagues to play in........ a reckon they'll go for it.

Now a think that if you chuck sum1 in on a sup air field with 9 of there mates or sumthin, I bet half of em are gonna walk off wantin to buy there own kit etc, or at least be temted to do so.

Am talkin a site where the customers turn up and go straight on the sup air field are let in on the things you need to grasp to play on a sup air field and then let loose for the whole day, or till there paint bill needs payed.

If you have a bizy woodland site that lets say goes through 100 customers a week. Imagine how many more players there could possibly be if they were all playin on a sup air field.

A aint sayin sup air is the be all end all......... hold on yeah I am!
Come on guys be honest, the feelin u got playin woodland ball the first time was it as good as the fellin u got the first time you played on a tourney field???

I know wot my answer is!

So wot u guys think?
And any1 else got any suggestions?

An all sup'air punter site probably wouldn't work... fair enuff they might enjoy it but getting the customers through the door in the first place is the problem... what we need is for more sites to bridge the gap between the woods and tourney ball... but that probably wont happen because most sites don't want people to get into tourneys... everyone knows there's no money in tourney promotion.

Do they?

How can u say that dude, just look at the NPPL or Millenium series, I reckon you could make more money off a sup air site than a woodland one!

NPPL is running just about on break even / possibly at a loss at the moment, Millennium runs at a profit but only a small one! Tourney promotion is a hell of a lot of work for very little money, the best you can get from it is a bit of money and free advertising.

Sup'Air at the moment is only marketable to people who are already into paintball... thats why we dont see pure sup'air sites over here.... the US is a bit different, the sport is bigger there so more concept-driven sites can survive.

lol.. Dont get me wrong, I for one would love to run an all concept site!!! Cant think of much better than that.... hopefully in a couple of years it'll be possible over here.

Someone needs to find the middle ground betwen tourney ball and the whole military and woodland thing.... not an easy thing to do and most site owners don't really beleive in the sport side of things which is a shame. Something like hollywood sports in the USA would probably do pretty well over here but that kinda thing costs serious money!

True....find me some land and i'll do it lol :D

Thing is getting the balance right, try and keep everyone happy.... having tourney teams training on busy customer days seems to get people interested in the sport side a bit more as does showing tourney videos and leaving copies of PGI around etc etc etc

Problem is from a site owners point of view, once someone gets into the sport, you stop making serious money out of them.... that's why a lot of sites don't seem to want to promote paintball as a sport.

I've thought about that very same thing before dude, and I think you'd have to have a very dedicated team for it to be set up and it wouldnt work just all sup'air first, half n half would be acceptable, I think all sup'air can only work if we get more sup'air out in the first place, ie thru CC and other events...
then and only then can we introduce sup'air only sites that will work, well in my view anyway...

Ditto, thought about it myself when thinking what to do with myself if he got made redundant. Sup air site was in no way an option. Let alone the indoor super complex I had in mind lol :D :D :D
