before you get a marker, the first thing you want to look at is a good set of goggles way more important than a marker, .

There are alot of good started guns available on the market now depending on the style of play you wish to play and your budget.

You have markers such as the proto slg (about £120) and rail (pmr about £150) from smart parts you have the vibe(£80 ish) which is new out and the ion (about £120). These are all good starter guns for a low end budget.

if you have a little more cash then you could look at buying an etek2 (£420) or a mini (not sure on price)

if your looking at the scenario type of play the majority of guns used nowadays are the same as the above with tippmans (dont know much about these to be honest but i know lots of people on here do)

These are all loads of markers which are all new, beofre you buy anything shoot as many as you can go to a local walkon day and im sure ballers will be more than happy to let you shoot their marker. If you find a gun you like have a look on the classified section on here as there is always lots of equipment for sale with lots of reputable guys selling on here as well.

Remember to budget for things like bottle, hopper and most important a mask. Lots of good reputable online shops nowadays such as planet, pheonix, lips and BZ if you call or pop into any of these shops im sure they will be able to give you a world of experience way past my level as well.

Glad your thinking of getting your first gat and welcome to the family that is known as paintball.

id suggest getting a relatively cheap so you know for sure that this is what you want to do! try the search button and you will find loads of these threads. in the end you dont get nowhere because of so many different opinnions. if you was deciding on a low end proto make then i would suggest a pmr. the slg to what i am told is just a mechanical marker with electronic trigger and board etc. someone correct me if i am wrong. the pmr has a few upgraded aftermarket products that make it almnost identical to the higher end markers such as pm6 pm7. i have been shooting a pmr and no it inside out. they are easy to maintain and great to shoot. if you are anywhere near birmingham then drop me a pm and you can shoot mine see how you get on! hope i have helped :D
