You know what... I think an experiment is in order, I can see the logic in both sides of the arguement, but cannot work out which is true.

Well cargo shifts if enough force is applied in transit and a strap hanging from the ceiling will swing from side to side on cornering. Couldn't say what would happen to an item not in Physical contact with the body of the trunk. It is an odd one.

the helicopter would move as the truck accelerates
if you think about it a box weighing 20 kg could slide when the truck accelerates, so why wouldnt the helicopter?
