im worried about drilling it out, because so much can go wrong, i don't drill straight, bolts and drill hole dnt match, don't buy right stuff, cause to much damage, screw up the internals, as the hole has to go all the way through, which could stop the bolts from running properly if its catching on excess metal left after drilling, and you know

Whichever method you use you will have to drill it out bigger and use a tap of some kind, the other methods just involve putting some kind of shim inside that allows you to use the same size bolt as previously.

I would re-tap the threads the next size up. I would need to see the job really to advise better.
Can you take a pic and give me an idea on sizes.
