Most has been said.

It all depends on your team...

Are they bad losers as a whole? Do they hate criticism? If so, praise them loads even though they did a silly move, praise the bit they did right.

Are there individuals that bring the rest of the group down? Pull them aside praise them, have a constructive criticism on how everyone got shot, learn how to not get shot that way. If it happens again change the game plan.

If you play a team that is more experienced and has achieved more, do all your heads go down straight away? If yes, then play tight and aggressive, mix it up a bit, believe your better - that always works.

At the end of the day it is a psychological battle, learn, learn, learn, and better yourself is the way forward.

Hope that helps xx

BAD TO THE BONE
Be honest with eachother and get ready for the next game. I do mean get ready.
Check everything before the next game. Nobody leaves the table till everyone is cleaned, potted and aired. if someone is covered in paint and their guns in bits, make sure that they are one of the team by getting everyone to help them get ready. Make this your regime even if your doing well youll find it helps when things go sour.
Encourage everybody especially the Capt to be honest with eachother. If you screwed up, you know about it. Try not to do this in public. It's one thing putting your hand up in front of your team mates and dont let it grind down into a slagging match.

One more thing, i dont know what team you are or what level your playing at but get this average into your teams pyschy at tournaments say 8 games here's the average
A:2 games u were meant to win
B:2 games u were meant to lose
C:2 games were decided by luck
D:2 games were decided by outside influences.
The more you play the better you averages will become and when things go wrong revert back to the averages and start again.

It depends on the kind of mindset your players have. What do they think causes players to win or lose?

Some players see it as all down external factors like equipment, and unchangable factors like raw talent. When they lose they see it as something can't be changed and is outside of their ability to change. They resiegn themselves to failing and give up after loses.

Others see performance as dependant on internal factors like there effort and changable things like their technique and how much training they do. They believe that they can win and following defeat look for ways to improve.

Try to encourage them to focus on internal and changable features of their game. Don't let them blame their kit, get them to consider how well they look after it and how well they manage their paint things they can change. Don't talk about the other teams raw talent, discuss how they must have put the effort in to field walking and training.

Of course there will always be people who have better kit, and have more natural talent, and being realistic that will effect the game. However from a motivation point of view it is important to focus on what you can change.

Steve's right, Sports Psychologists call it Attribution Theory and it's a widely used approach in professional coaching. You also need to train lots. If you raise the technical skills of your players they will be more confident. Adrenaline makes unprepared people nervous and perform worse, and gets prepared people fired up and they perform even better. If your team loses a game, they need to focus on the change needed to win the next and go into it with confidence.

Two reasons you get beat.

1) They play better than you. In this case you need to refocus your players on playing better/tighter especially if you know you have the ability to. If the team that beats you is in another class realise most teams in your division are not and use the better team as a motivation to train more after the event.

2) You let them beat you by making mistakes. In this case you might need to get the team more focused before game. Maybe a huddle at the start gate and team cheer of some sort to focus everyone. Also make sure your guys are not running to get to field just in time but get there with a game in hand with all kit ready and everyone knowing where they are going.
