Most important skill?

Baca Loco

Ex-Fun Police
What's the most important skill for a tourney player and why? Does it depend on position? Or is the question to simplistic? Maybe it should be the 5 most important skills in order of importance.
Number 5--communication. gots to know what the team is doing and what the big picture is.
Number 4--vision. Not just ability to see (doh!) but to "see" and recognize what it means in terms of playing out the game.
Number 3--movement.
Number 2--accuracy. hard to get those eliminations if you can't even hit their bunker nuch less the other guy's (or gal's) foot, hopper, elbow, hand, etc.
Number 1--staying alive. Nobody wins games from the dead box.

1) The ability to shoot.

2) Staying alive.

3) timing.

4) ability to understand the game

5) Knowing where to post/find Tournament information on p8ntballer :D

6) Knowing when to duck, a) on the field and b) after taking the piss out of a mod :)

7) not pointing out when a mod is trying to start 'interesting debate' to change the subject ;) see 6)

8) the ability to enjoy themselves. What's the point in playing if you don't enjoy it? Have fun!

Mother, is that you?
Baca, don't give the answer with the question - that could have kept me going for weeks.

But what makes the great great?

Two players with equal skills on every count... yet one will always beat the other. Your ball bounces, my ball breaks. I've seen it time and time again.

My old teaher would point to virtu & fortuna or, in 21st century terms, the Force.

Any believers?

Completely agree - accuracy is fairly easy, if you have a decent marker, decent paint and decent barrell it shouldnt be too hard to hit anything (hoppers feet etc) at the ranges you play on supair fields. Particularly when you add that you can put 12+ balls per second in your targets general direction, you miss after that n you really are ****. Moving & timing of the move is what its all about, n what i gotta learn.. some of it comes from instinct tho i guess then you just gotta build on it. Having no fear is pretty key aswell, you cant be afraid of gettin hit or hurt you just gotta give it your all
You can be the smallest fastest best shot in the world but if you spend the entire game cowering at the back behind one bunker you aint a decent paintballer

imho you understand :D
