Sam, there is such an offence as "theft by finding" if you jump out of your car and leave the keys in it, and someone takes it, its still theft.

BUT, its pretty stupid of the owner to do so. Hiding it in a bush??? You may aswell walk into a gay bar, pull your trousers down, and bend over.

Not really the same as the car analogy Bolter though. The bag was seemingly abandoned outside a pub, either in a bush of under a cart. Either way, shaky I admit, it could be construed as unwanted/dumped property. But either way if thats how they treat their kit, then why should anyone be sympathetic when it gets lost?

And leave you friday night activities out of it dude, nobody wants to know your pick up techniques.....;)

Oli, there are two kinds of idiots, the ones who leave their kit outside of the pub in a bush/under a well lit cart, and the kind that watch their friends leave their kit outside a pub in a bush/under a well lit cart and don't try and talk them out of it...;)
